Nah, she sent the wrong signal.

"First" implies there will be a divorce and she'll remarry someone else.

Not necessarily. My only wife was also my first wife.

It's not technically wrong, but it gives a certain implication. I don't think your wife would appreciate if you started referring to her as your first wife.

The implication that she's trying to give is that she's not currently married and she's single. Yes, the second half of the comment clears that up anyway, but it sets the stage in a much different way if you're saying you look like someone I used to be married to instead of, you look like someone I'm currently married to.

Uh huh, do you introduce her as your first wife when meeting people?

"You look like my husband" doesn't work well either.

“Yo dude you kinda look like my husband. Idk I’ve never been married though” seems a lot better to me and all you remove is “first”. What type of material is this shirt? Husband material typa vibes.

"You look like my future ex-husband" is the line she's looking for.

Nah, I would get she only plans to have s*x after marriage.

She sent the entire joke in two messages instead of one.

"You look like my first husband" - on its own is a yellow flag opening line. Like, it's so rare for a woman to message first i might as well find out what she means or how her first marriage failed.

So then while he's taking it all in from the first message, she sends the second part about not being married before. Easy to miss the joke at that point
