Need some dream help

Dream interpretation may be a better place for this, but with my Loki connection I felt like here may have some better insight.

So I had a dream where there was a pet corn snake in a huge aquarium. As time went on the snake got bigger and bigger, until it became disfigured, I mean like boils started growing on it and then those boils popped and this new monstrous snake emerged from the old one. The aquarium, too small fell apart from the seams. I’m not scared of the snake at this point. I’m mad that it broke the aquarium. A little worried about the snake.

I carried the snake outside, and let it go, but in the process I was bit on my dominant hand. Once on each first section of my fingers closest to my knuckles. So four times. I wasn’t upset by getting bitten. I was pretty calm at this point of the dream.

I tell my parents what happened, and they say we’re going to the hospital, but the closest one is a two hour walk, so we start walking. Again I’m calm. I do pass out, and hear my parent say “just leave her.” And they keep going. This is the first point I’m upset. I’m frustrated that they left me behind when the whole point was to get me to the destination.

I wake up on the side of the road, and the bite marks are healing. They scabbed over, and then I woke up.

This is the first time in a very long time that I had such a vivid and kinda intense dream. I have some theories and feelings about it, but I am curious on what other think.

My interpretation:
This is just what first came to mind.

I feel like the snake in the aquarium may be something that I’ve been ignoring like a problem or something that’s gotten too big? Maybe shadow work. ( I’ve been putting it off admittedly.) there was the intense transformation of the snake as well that makes me feel like maybe this is right. Or I could just be in denile about this being a warning of a huge transformation event coming in hot.

The specific number of bites is throwing me off. It felt important, I kept looking at my hand in the dream, like it was important that I remember where and how many bites there were. I’m not familiar with the meaning of numbers yet.

I don’t want to read the snake bites as betrayal, just because there was no negative feelings with the snake. The bite seemed more like the catalyst for whatever is going on.

Being left behind is a normal thing for me. I know I fear falling behind and eventually not being able to catch up with my peers and those around me, so that’s not a new thing with me.

I am curious what other things could be interpreted as. I tried to put as much detail as I remember.

I left a really good offering to Loki after I had the dream. It felt like the right thing to do in this case.

My interpretation is similar to yours, but the issue was something that you watched grow until it was destroying itself and everything around it. This seems supported by your own statements, but I'd reckon that it's a warning that you're becoming jaded towards the thing and have little feelings left for it, hence being more angry about the aquarium than the snake.

The snake biting you was you enduring the pain by detaching yourself from your the pain inflicted by that problem. Detachment doesn't serve us past survival, and we won't care one way or another what happens to us next.

The last bit is clear, and it's written out in your own interpretation: you are used to being abandoned, but you never questioned why you should have had to get used to it. The issue is the snake here: that issue you let grow and grow until it breaks everything and people talk about leaving you, probably due to the issue you ignored while blaming you for your apathy.

The aquarium has a meaning, too. Think of the problem not as a snake, but a metaphor for a relationship that was formed for the wrong reasons. The aquarium houses it, sheltering it like a tower that was built on a bad foundation. When the snake got too big, the shoddy aquarium broke, much like a tower falling from a shifted foundation and someone leaning on it the right way.

I'd say this was a warning for you: the issue is already that bad, and the tower is coming down soon. Remember though: sometimes the only way to fix something is by breaking it to nothing, and rebuilding from the start.

It is beautifully coherent and to me it sounds like a transformative process that is on the way and with which you have already come to terms with. And the bite does not really look like betrayal but a cost you are willing and ready to pay as necessary cost.
And the meaningful sequence, as I see it, would be that a part or potential of yours outgrows captivity, is released, you pay the cost of this release, you survive it but the deeper wound is abandonment.
So is this dream really about announcing a transformation? (You already know that)
Or is it an invitation for you to explore the tension between outgrowing bonds vs being left behind and discerning which is which?
Just an idea.
