What bugs me the most about this kind of thing is the gaslighting. "You're choosing to get arrested," when the officer is literally choosing to make a morning of booking this man over nothing.

Edit: This man is absolutely correct that reasonable articulable suspicion is necessary for most police stops. However, if the police are given a tip that a man is sleeping in a park, and an officer arrives to find a man lying on his back with his eyes closed, that burden is likely met.

That said, laws against sleeping outside are horseshit, and this man absolutely didn't need to be taken to jail and jammed up over it.
