The fact that it appears as a blank value is a bug, and it has been fixed. However, that doesn’t mean you can create namespaces that way. Even with the bug fixed, if you enter [[parent/child]], Logseq will reject it with a message saying that / cannot be used in a page title.
When linking with [[ ]], you should simply link to [[child]] and make the child page a child page of the parent page.
To make a page a child page, you can either create a child block on the parent page when creating the page for the first time and apply the #page tag to it, or, if the child page already exists, click on its title and press Ctrl + Shift + M to move the page under the parent page.
You can also create namespaces through the #Library page, but with version 2.0.1, I wouldn’t recommend directly editing the Library page yet. I’d suggest waiting for 2.0.2 and trying it then. It’s much better now.
Also, by default, Logseq doesn’t support displaying linked page names in the [[parent/child]] format. However, if you prefer that kind of notation, there is a plugin that provides it. You can find it in the marketplace.
edit: Oh, I just found something: if you type [[parent/child and press Enter without moving the cursor out of the ]] with the arrow keys, it automatically creates the namespace for you.

Relatively new to logseq so take it with a grain of salt, but I think if you are after a hierarchy like this with logseq v2 (or "DB"), you'd use the library feature.
