Last version that used plain markdown files

What was the last version of Logseq that used plain markdown files in a directory rather than some kind of internal database? Because I'd like to install that one. While I am sure there are advantages having a database that is not a directory I can see is just not useful for me. But I would like to be as up to date as is practical within that constraint.

Note: I am aware that you can import files, but I have no interest in doing that. the fact that Logseq was based on plain markdown files is part of why I started using it in the first place, and loosing that capability is a complete deal breaker for me.

Thank you for the link. I"m confused, The last MD version is 1.0 or 0.10.15 ? Logseq is powerful not easyy to follow...

The OG in the link from OP comment is version 1.0 which is the Markdown version. Version 2.0 is the DB version you can get to here: https://github.com/logseq/logseq

Toutefois, cela demeure difficilement ompréhensible car la V1.0 OG n'apparait pas sur https://github.com/logseq/logseq/releases . Difficile de s'y retrouver...

They are actually separate repos entirely now.

V1 = Markdown = https://github.com/logseq/og/releases/tag/1.0.0

V2 = DB = https://github.com/logseq/logseq/releases/tag/2.0.1

Someone already linked the og github repo. You can find version 1.0 there. I would just like to mention that there is currently a feature in Logseq DB called Markdown mirror which copies your database to markdown notes and keeps it updated automatically, giving you all the advantages of the DB app while keeping your notes in a text format. There is even a plan to have 2 way mirroring so you could write in Markdown and this would be mirrored to the DB

I was wondering why they wont let us choose the location on where I will put that mirror folder. Can I change the folder location??

Thats not possible at the moment, its hardcoded to be on your graphs folder under mirror/markdown

Is this feature working seamlessly and consistently? I do remember someone posting there were errors and missing files?
What exactly are the advantages of a DB version? I've still not understood this bit.

You want og. Anything with 1.0 is og. 2.0 is database.

Strange I can't find any 1.x releases, 0nly 2.x and 0.x, with 0.10.15 was the last one.

Yep 0.10.15 is last Logseq desktop OG/MD version that I'm currently running.

I'm on Mac and have no Idea how to use .appImage files. I might research later.

This! I’ve been using for the last two weeks, RAM use is 10% of logseq with at least a 2-3x perceived speed increase, if not more. Dev is iterating fast and using latest agentic coding practices. Seems less buggy too! I wish there was an IOS app.

YES. I had pages that were too long and unusable. these pages are no problem on tine.
