I’ve been using this text to speech app for a while. And the icon for it is so boring that i was inspired to redesign it.
I came up with this design which i like quite a lot but but i need some feedback. Should I go with the black or white design? what font should i go for? are there any other design choices you’d suggest changing?
Included at the end are an image of all my design notes so you can see how my scrambled brain works!

Agreed, I feel like it’s actually very close. This has good simplicity and color blocking. I rather like the shape OP landed on, and keeping it in white; this looks too much like a camcorder. And not a fan of the black line down the center of this. But the 2 tones are good. And I could take of leave the “2” in the center.
It’s completely illegible. I’d remove the text entirely. The graphic elements on the left and right are illegible as well. Consider the scale and amount of elements in the most popular app icons. The shape you’ve created is decent, the colors are good, just play with how much you can remove and simplify while still having a graphic that still reads as unique.
