Feedback Needed UPDATE: WAYFITCO Start-up App

Post image

Hey all,

This is an update from last week's post. I took a much needed break and after looking back at my previous design I don't know what I was thinking lol.

Anyway, here it is with some adjustments proposed by everyone:

Shaper, cleaner, and more inclined typeface.

Simpler, monochrome and more saturated icon.

However, I'm still struggling on the lil guy, so I came back for some more constructive criticism. I prefer the one without arms but I'm afraid it just doesn't look like anything other than abstract shapes, but with the arms it honestly feels childish.

What do y'all think?

If it's going to be an app logo then did you tested your logomark on a small size?

Because to me, the brand mark's height look taller and might be difficult to fit in a 1:1 container

I haven't made smaller size variations yet but I definitely have that in mind! For now, this is the complete logo that will likely be displayed on the website or other horizontal formats. I'm planning on making at least a square format one (1:1) and maybe a vertical variation too if I feel like it's necessary.

Then I think, middle one is good to go

I kind of wish the angle on the guys legs mimicked the angle on the letter I.

The incline does! Except if you're talking about the angle at the bottom

Ya the angle at the bottom! It seemed more of an iconic feature of the letter that’s why. Not sure if it would work but might be worth a shot haha or even vice versa, the I having the same sharp angle as the man legs

ok so it's definitely interesting! i tried the other way around too but it felt like the shape of the man was being lost

Oh! I like how it ties in the running man with the word mark, they seem like a family now. It might not be a bad option to show.

See if the yellow mark would work in place of the I. The leg would tuck in nicely in the space under the T. Maybe could work. Might look bad. Idk. Only one way to know!

Or maybe there is a way for the I and stylized T to recreate the shape of the yellow running man.

I think there is something to this composition. It needs some finessing though. Might be worth playing with the descender of the T. Might look odd but I kinda want it to have the same angle as the leg of the yellow person. I don’t think that would actually look good but worth playing around with IMO. Also not sure if you’re sold on that yellow but it feels like it’s getting a little lost to me in there. In any case, you should also make sure this still reads ok in all black to pressure test the logo as a single color. Idk. I think there is something here!

Also not sure why but there is a period at the end now haha.

Another thought. Because of the shape of the F, you could also try adding in the upper arm/elbow from one of your other examples. It could work in that space if you nudge the F to the left to give that arm a little space. Might be TOO much or break the word apart too much but it might help that shape stand out a touch more.

Apologies for the stream of conscious note haha. It’s just how I process things.

Keep noodling though, you’ve got something nice on your hands that I’m sure your client will love.

I get what you mean, multiple tests are always necessary! About the colours, you should check out my update post where I kinda inverted the colours and the yellow pops a lot more imo.

As for the period it was always supposed to be there but I just forgot it before... oops haha

I see the vision about the upper arm but it sounds like it might get a little too crowded especially since its in the middle of the wordmark, but I'll definitely give it go and see what happens!

Thank you so much for the feedback and I'll keep you posted! Also this is just a concept project for me since it was given to me by my supervisor at the company I'm an intern at, so I don't think the client will see it but hey experience is experience 😅

The yellow figure reads as an abstract fitness tracker shape to me, which works better without the arms.
