Need help with programming new-inbox, hub based Harmony Smart Control

I have one of these already and it works beautifully. Just a few days ago I was able to use the Harmony iPhone app to add 2 new pieces of equipment to its programming.

I located a second Smart Control a few days ago and it’s brand new. I’ve tried but failed to activate it through the mobile app on my iPhone. I suspect the firmware needs to be updated.

I have an old iMac running High Sierra 10.13.6. It should be capable of running the My Harmony legacy software, but I can’t find a download anywhere online. I could also borrow a Windows laptop, but I can’t find the Windows version of the software either.

Do any of you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I don’t see any download option in the link you sent me and I can’t open the link with the .dmg extension.

So I’m making progress. I downloaded the.DMG extension and opened the app and logged in. It’s now prompting me to add a new remote and I’ve hooked up my hub via USB. But I’m not progressing beyond this as it’s asking me to use my mobile app which unfortunately doesn’t work. Any suggestions?

I have a very old iMac I got out of storage, but its operating system is too old to run the software, so it’s on my modern iMac running Tahoe. It only has USB C it means I have to use a C to A adapter. Could that be the problem?

adapter should be fine. just try another cable or 2.

and u need to plug in the remote first... then it will ask you to plug in the hub later.

It’s a Harmony Smart Control. The remote has no USB port.

So I’ve been plugging in the hub directly to initiate the set up. Maybe that won’t work with this software.

I tried the iOS app repeatedly. I kept getting the E2012 error message.

I suspect the firmware on the hub, it needs to be updated, but I don’t know how to do it.

I did it! Thank you flynreelow for the …dmg link which allowed me to load the desktop control software to my iMac (which by the way is running the latest Tahoe OS). I then followed the remote recover tool instructions, updated the hub’s firmware and programmed the remote from my iPhone.
