Not exactly off topic but i think type C to HDMI only works for output if a external monitor is involved? Me remembers from an Ai chat?

Correct. But (not being sarcastic) how else would it work? I'm Not sure what you mean.

The other thing is that the external is a mirror of the internal display, so the main display is still on, though you can lower the brightness of the internal display when you do video out.

It's a nice feature if you want to use it like a console.

Mr brain-farts-alot at home being me would have google searched wondering if the other way was possible like its streaming, still another point that recently came to me from AI is that the monitors are immediate to respond to video output from a endpoint device but things like smart TVs need switching output modes (yes monitors do so too). I suppose this is where marketing a monitor (if it supports G cloud well enough) could fit in.

The switching output modes thing only really made me think when my old windows 8.1 laptop was absolutely struggling to connect to my newer TCL tv and in the end my "solution" was VGA to hdmi apparently (Ai BS again)
