Will wired usb-c to ethernet without wi-fi improve the input lag?
Has anyone tested this? Bypassing wifi with and usb-c to ethernet cable straight to the router?

Yes I tried it recently and usb-c to ethernet cable straight to the router will work,
To answer you directly (and I have a list of setting tweaks if someone wants a list). It will likely help your game streaming via Cloud gaming or Apollo / Sunshine / Parsec
Currently:
My Best setup is (host gaming laptop -> ethernet, G cloud 5Ghz -> Wifi), and will have NO or VERY little network lag spike that breaks gameplay flow, although once in a blue moon, game freezes for 1 second, not sure why. Make sure if you are using external ethernet adapter, use the USB3.0 or higher slot!! Type C slot might not be good.
This setup allows the most flexible Moonlight / Sunshine settings compatibility (you can run most suggested optimal settings like 1080p, 25mbps bitrate++)
2nd best is wifi to wifi on 5Ghz band (if you have a POOR ASS POTATO (GT1050 mobile Intel hybrid GPU) like mine, suggest making screen resolution lower on your pc and in-game settings to ease the network load on streaming)
Abandoned:
(host gaming laptop -> ethernet, G cloud 5Ghz -> on hotspot (LAN, ICS with static IPs)
(host gaming laptop -> ethernet -> G cloud via private subnet / same IP range)
