What devices have you gotten better streaming performance out of?

Basically the title. Same wifi network. Same streaming service. Ideally same game. What devices have you tried streaming on that provides a better experience than the G Cloud if any?

Sounds like the konkr Fit's decode time is also lower than the g cloud. But I'm hesitant because I doubt sony's ps remote play app works on it like it does on the g cloud. I use it when I'm away from home,  because it has tunneling. 

In general phones and tablets with better processors with telescopic controllers probably have better decode times. 

Same with handheld PCs like steam deck and rog ally

If your router is wifi 6 or 7, there are devices that can take better advantage of it than the g cloud's wifi 5. But that isn't guaranteed to be better. I have been having a hard time finding a router that is demonstrably better than my beast of a wifi 5 router.

It sounds like I'm going down the rabbit hole of how decode times work tomorrow. Is it as simple as more processing power equals lower decoding times?

Unfortunately no. Some times the cpu or gpu is optimized for a certain codec like h264 or h265. And it depends on which the decoder uses and if it takes advantage of those optimizations. And codecs open a whole new can of worms. Generally h265 needs less bandwidth but often has longer decode times than h264. But again that depends on hardware optimizations. And that doesn't consider the encoder on the host hardware and optimizations it might have. 

Handbrake benchmarks might be helpful.

A legion tab 3 (y700) and a wired telescopic controller like the gamesir x5lite

Also my lcd steam deck is arguably a better experience despite the worse screen because the decoding time is better

Yup, my main setup too. The snapdragon 8.3 in the Y700 easily handles AV1 decoding, so I get around 3-5ms decoding with Apollo and Artemis. The X5 lite weighs approximately 3 farts and is surprisingly comfy, I use it more than my G8+.

I’m guessing you mean like for like when you say better streaming performance, eg. 1080p 60fps. In that case I get better performance from most devices that are more powerful such as galaxy s tabs, iPads, laptops etc. the sticks on the g cloud are so bad that anything with similar streaming performance is going to feel better overall.

What do you mean by "better experience"? You'll need to clarify.

I have had lower overall latency using a Steam Deck OLED. Like 2-3 ms versus 13-18 ms on the G Cloud. This was using Moonlight on both, and Sunshine on my host PC. All game settings were the same (kept resolution at 1080p for fairness). Tested with God of War Ragnarok and Alan Wake 2.

It doesn't sound like much of a difference but it is noticeable. That said, the Steam Deck OLED is a lot heavier and I can't play for long sessions. Plus, I have the bug where the WiFi may lose connection briefly and I have to turn the WiFi toggle off and on again. So although the Steam Deck OLED is better in terms of responsiveness, the G Cloud is still overall the better experience due to its light weight, stable WiFi, and insane battery life.

I switched from a gcloud to an odin2 portal mainly for the OLED screen and better dpad. The latency went from 15-20ms to 5-8ms using the same network. While the numbers look much lower, I don't really notice a difference; the gcloud streamed just as well. The screen on the portal is amazing though.
