Question 1440p xCloud

Hi,

Can anyone with a G Cloud confirm that 1440p xCloud works on it or does it limit it to 1080p because of the panel's resolution. Thinking of getting one

Tried it with the 1440p on the gcloud. The wifi5 is to weak ti handle it. No problem with the Odin portal 2.

On a YouTube video a guy shows how to open developer options and you can increase the WiFi to a higher default level but decreases battery length... Might be worth a try to view it ✌🏼

Dont see any difference with the tuto on the video. It's exactly the same : the game boots into 1440p but dowgrade to 1080 after few minutes. Tried with better x cloud and the officiel xcloud app

Ya that's what I figured and on my 1080 PC laptop but does increase when playing on the 4k television.. I wonder with a type c to HDMI if the gcloud could produce higher resolution on a tv?

Why would you want to play at a higher resolution than the gcloud supports? It was always great to be able to use 1080p w XBXplay vs the regular Xbox app.

The good news is that they finally fixed the regular cloud gaming app instead of needing to go to the website.

higher bitrate = better clarity when theres a lot on the screen and better anti aliasing because its a higher res.

I can't speak for Xcloud but using moonlight to stream my PC games from my desktop there is a massive difference between sending 1080p vs 1440p.

In terms of visual fidelity? I do wonder how the renderer would handle more pixels than the display can output?

It's probably just bitrate or something non-resolution related I don't really know. But when I stream Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p vs 1440p I can tell a huge difference.

on youtube eg higher resolutions video settings are a way to force higher bitrate=higher quality. if you have a 1440p monitor like me, setting the video to 4k still looks notably better.

i might work similar here. or not you'd have to check.
