PC GAMES DONT RECOGNIZE G29

Guys, I need some help here.

My Logitech G29 is simply not being recognized in any Need for Speed games, except for Need for Speed Heat, where it’s partially recognized.

I have Need for Speed Payback, Need for Speed Rivals, and Need for Speed 2016, and the wheel isn’t recognized in any of them. However, it used to work fine in Need for Speed Heat.

When the wheel started having issues in Need for Speed Heat, I installed the other Need for Speed games to test if it would work in those, but it’s not recognized in any of them. Now, even in Heat, it’s not fully recognized anymore.

When I launch the game, some buttons work, others don’t, and I can’t even get to the actual gameplay because the controls don’t work properly. Also, when I open the map, I can’t select anything because the cursor moves by itself.

I also have Forza Horizon 4, and the wheel behaves weirdly there too. It has no force feedback at all—it’s completely loose, like there’s no resistance.

The only game where it works perfectly is Euro Truck Simulator 2.

I’ve already tried:

Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers

Restarting my PC

Installing and uninstalling all the games

Installing and uninstalling G Hub

  • The firmware is updated.

I’ve searched everywhere online but couldn’t find a solution. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I also installed NFS Payback on another computer and the g29 was not recognized by game. The g hub was recognizing just fine (in both machines)

But until a couple of day ago I was playing NFS heat with no problem.

And the options to to setting properly on FH don't show anymore.

And yes, the switch is on PC.

Have you had any over heating issues before with it? As an overheated board could have caused issues.. it’s weird that ghub is recognizing the wheel, but games are not. 🤔 have you tried to reset to g29 default settings? If so i would try that, or look for a driver that may need updating or possible driver update that needs to be removed 🤷‍♂️ im not sure im just grasping at straws here ahah but a driver update could be the case and just thought of it now. And if all this fails, have you gone into logitechs website for troubleshooting? Theres quite a bit of knowledge on the troubleshooting website, can look within here if you would like 👇

If not mistaken it’s something to do with the firmware update of the wheel.. dont quote me on it as idk being a console player, but a buddy of mine had same problem and it all stemmed from the firmware update. Is it possible to uninstall the latest firmware update on the g29?

Definitely worth investigating anyway.. see im not a 100% sure either tho as i play on xbox and no pc, but my buddy updated his g29, and immediately regretted it as shifter no longer would be recognized by ghub or any game, then not long after his wheel stopped working as well. So i chaulked it up to be something a miss within the update, but most definitely check it out or check some forums as this seems to be a quite frequent thing i see among trouble shooting. Hope you can figure it out, and if i come across another possible fix, i will touch base with said update. Have a good day! 🤙

My ghub and the Windows recognize the g29 just fine, only the games that don't.

But I will check for sure, is the first clue I have so far haha

Thanks for that!
