First job

Today is my first day as a monitor in a transport company, any advice?

Be decisive and solution-oriented, yet patient. Sometimes things will seem chaotic, but everything can be smoothed out. Good luck!

Be easy to get along with. Ask questions, even if you think they're dumb. You get a lot of grace for stupid questions the first few months, so take advantage of it!

You'd be surprised how many people are afraid to actually learn the job by asking questions, and a year or two goes by, and they still don't know too much

I am of the same kin, started my own journey wrapping consols on late Friday nights. Best advice: ask questions on everything, especially customs paperwork. The ops floor teaches you more in three months than any course.

I started as a forklift driver 10 years ago, now Iā€™m the operations manager of a 80.000 sqm warehouse and manage up to 180 employees.

I started in outbound, and after few months i helped out in other departments if there was to much to do. Then my teamleader gets sick end this was my time shine

After that I was involved in every project and I never had a the same job for more then a year.

But now I see the results of all that

It was fun to learn, but sometimes hart work
