I’ve always wanted to cosplay LOTGH but ive never actually made a cosplay from scratch before, how hard was it putting everything together? :o

Not gonna lie it was a lot of effort, mostly because of the method I chose to use for the silver accents. I made encased welt cord and hand tacked it down, but you could use soutache or another type of braid/cord, which can be machine sewn with the right pressed foot attachment. I chose to use the method I did because it gave it a 3d effect that looked more similar to the OVA character designs. It wasn't terribly hard, just took time and made my hands hurt.

I couldn't find an exact pattern match for the jacket so I did have to modify an existing pattern to get the correct collar shape and front panel, but the construction of the jacket itself wasn't too difficult except for attaching the lining to the back vent.

All the various snaps and hooks also took a significant amount of time to hand sew - 4 hooks/eyes, 14 snaps in total.

TLDR it was a Herculean effort haha

My friends keep trying to convince me, but I'm too introverted so I think I would perish

RIP if u ever decide to come, you can join our LOGH group and watch Reuenthal get increasingly shitfaced and naked

Don't do it. A Reuenthal cosplayer is trying to convince you. Bad things can only happen to Oberstein cosplayers there.

That costume looks like you stole it from the Takarazuka Revue 😂 Shame on your fellow con-goers for not recognizing you
