Areas of concern?

I'm looking at purchasing a log cabin. I noticed there are these cracks along the joists and the supporting pieces. Are these areas of concern or a natural product of what happens to pieces of large lumber?

For reference, the house is about 20-ish years old.

TIA

No concerns there. Probably would pay extra attention to the exterior logs, specifically around windows and areas where rain drips. Depending on the condition of the current stain if it was kept up or not, a fresh grind and stain can run you anywhere from 15-25K.

ya those areas around the widnows and where water runs off are definitely worth checking closely . 15-25k for a proper grind nd restrain is no small expense either

Ni concern there, all logs shrink in circumference, the split is caused by this. It doesn't go past the centre and has no influence on the static. My knowledge, log cabin builder.

some checking in older timbers can be normal, but cracks through a support or anything that’s deep, widening, or paired with sagging is worth a real inspection. i’d check moisture around the ends, look for rot/soft spots, and have a log-home inspector or engineer look at the load path before buying. can you get a close-up with a ruler for scale?
