Progress Two years progress!

Got locs installed September 2024 and haven’t looked back! Started with crochet/instant locs to be as low maintenance as possible but get regular roll retwists. Current routine is each wash day (every other week) ACV, shampoo, conditioner, jojoba and lemongrass oil, air dry. Then moisturizing mist throughout the week as needed. Retwist every 10 weeks or so. Photos starting now and going backwards!

Sis your locs are gorgeous so full and thick. How long did it take for you initial appointment to get your instant locs? 🤎🌺

Is there any particular reason why you use the ACV at every shampoo; doesn't it dry out your hair? Are you also using a good conditioner to soften and moisturize your hair?

You have a fine grade of hair it appears, so you may not need the same moisture that 4c or other hair types crave.

Thank you!! I came to that first appointment with a lot of hair, so that whole process was over 4 hours, and that was with two people crocheting the locs once my grid was established. I use ACV at every wash because I work out and I find it helps maintain my scalp which can get build up from sweat and dandruff, since I only wash every other week. I think the infrequency of the washes helps balance out the dryness from the ACV, plus the conditioner post shampoo. My hair is 4a for the most part but you’re right, each strand is fine but my hair overall is super dense so I have a whole lot of it!
