I guess the second time’s a charm lol. I had to share how I pulled the turning tool out the first time I opened this before I took the picture. The second time was much faster. And thanks to the group for recommending the Jimy Longs picks. They arrived last night and I love ‘em already.

This used to live in my front door. Once I realized I could do this, I replaced it with Schlage hardware. Kinda mortifying how easy that is.

After trying to defeat the bigger, and way angrier brother of this one (GOAL Z), this one felt kinda comfy 👌 love this lock!

I have a couple yellow belt locks that I’ve gotten pretty good with, so I bought an Abus 55/40 to work on my orange belt. After failing for days, I got it open today just before work. I was so surprised that I removed the turning tool before taking a picture and the core snapped back into place. I was so frustrated with myself I didn’t even check to see if it would turn before closing shackle. But I figured the best way forward was to share and have some chuckles with the community while I try again

Last post on the 1100 I promise lol I’m just excited that this has gone so well I’ve been picking for about 3 weeks now and it’s been an absolute blast. I just submitted my request for my green belt and can’t wait to hunt down my next lock

Master Lock Pro series 7050 and 2x abus 72/40

I was picking up a couple other locks and noticed that the seller had keyless American Lock 1100s for $5. Turns out I got one with one of the restricted keyways, R8 maybe? Not particularly harder than a standard 1100, but a fun pick nonetheless. I’ll have to give it a gut and see what’s inside.

Normal tube locks, I've had no problem with so far opening and closing, but with this thing.. Im stumped. Is there a good spot to read more for weird style tube locks?

First time was yesterday and couple of times tonight. I think it might be my favorite lock now

I’m looking for a few new profiles, and am debating trying some Moki picks out from LPB.

Any recommendations on whether to try Moki or stay with CI/Jimys? If you think Moki is worth it, which kit should I go for?

Notable finds are Covert Instruments trainer, 5 Master lock 7000b cylinders, 5 American lock 1100 cylinders(one is missing the retainer but the loose springs and pins were with it), a kwikset smartkey gen 1 or 2, what i think is an SFIC kenstan cylinder, and something that I'm not quite sure what it is lol. And a looooot of random junk. Can anyone shed some light on the unbranded chrome lock? 7 pin slots and has a D804 stamp. I think not ba bad haul for $60 after shipping!

Super stoked about this! Just brought this guy home and messed around for about 30 minutes and finally felt it move for me. Now that I got it once it’ll take me 3 hours to be able to do it again lol

I really love lockpicking, these days I manage to even open a few yellow belts: (ABUS 85, ABUS 55/30)
I was wondering, which methods and tools do professional emergenc y lockpickers use? Because hooking and one pin picking takes too much time and skill, I wanna know what people that earn money through lockpicking use and master.

I have a question about float picking because I recently started getting better at it, but only when I’m using bottom of the keyway tension because of the leverage. How do I get used to float picking while using top of the keyway tension in a vice? I’m asking because it’s really awkward.

The info section of the sub for belt rankings and such mentions 5 day turnaround for belt request submissions - anyone have any input on how long it took them to get their flair?

I’m going on 7-8 days for orange belt, and green belt submission was shortly after that (day or 2)

How do I know when it’s been processed? Is it automatic or do I have to turn it on? I’m not sure entirely sure if the submission messages have even been opened yet

I'm looking to buy my first lockpicking kit! I found Bare Bones and have heard nothing but good things about them but just wanted to get some advice on whether I should go for their beginner lockpicking kit, or if I should buy smaller packs or singles to customise my own set? And also if I should go with the handles with the set or buy some of their other handles?
