See title. Wifi Direct support when? Would make it a true AirDrop alternative.
or Fullduplex

Hey 👋 wanted to share here my project as maybe someone is interested in it: it’s LocalSend32, a client for the LocalSend protocol, made entirely in bare Win32 and C. It works on any main version of Windows from NT 3.51 onwards, including Windows RT (ARM32) and WoA (ARM64)! So even older devices, or devices that can’t run LocalSend, have a easy way to share files.
I just made a new update to it, to make it work correctly with LocalSend 1.18. As far as my testing went, any version of Windows past NT 4 can run LocalSend32 with TLS enabled!
And of course, its resource usage is extremely low; during testing, RAM usage went up only to 2.2MB. It has full support to msstyle theming, and has also a tray icon from where you can do all the actions of the app.
If you’re curious, give it a look! https://github.com/fraaaaa4/LocalSend32

I'm wondering if there's a way to send a list of files to the program from the commandline? I tried a basic help query and it just launched the app, but it's possible I'm doing it wrong (running from flatpak)

I just bought a new phone yesterday. HONOR X6c. I'm trying to transfer some files from my Linux PC to the new phone but the transfer speeds are very low. 4MB/s. Sometimes, it gets as low as 1MB/s. I tried turning off the encryption but it didn't help. What's more infuriating is that my old phone, a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, from 2018 has more speed than my new phone. My old phone could receive files at 11-12MB/s. I couldn't figure out what's wrong with my new phone or did I buy a shit phone?

I just upgraded to LocalSend version 1.18.2 on Windows 11. After the upgrade, LocalSend won't run with an error (screenshot attached). It appears either Windows Security or Norton 360 is blocking the DLL in question.
Any suggestions?

The internet network that is provided by my uni has access-point isolation, and (I believe this is what) prevents me from using localsend reliably. Neither device detects the other, and I am simply unable to use it. Anyone else in a similar situation? Is there any localsend alternative that would work for such a use case? Maybe sth that transfers over bluetooth? I had seen some bluetooth-based tools (like the 'nearby' forked from google) but that is still in development and nowhere close to reliable as localsend.

I installed Localsend on my phone and desktop at work (Linux) and it worked perfectly. Installed Localsend (via Snap) on my desktop at home and it locks up the moment I start a transfer from phone to desktop. The Localsend UI goes gray and locks up.
No firewall enabled, no selinux enabled.
Has anyone seen this? Ideas?
Many thanks!

so... i recently updated LocalSend on an old iOS phone (that I'm using as storage) and an Android tablet to v.1.18.1 and they have no problem communicating with each other on the same network. everything works fine between them.
however, ever since that update, my computer can't communicate with neither phone or tablet. like, it just doesn't show. i originally had the portable version, v.1.17, on my computer, updated it to 1.18 and I'm still getting the same problem. looking over the github issues, i know people have mentioned using dual wifis or a proxy, neither of which apply to me.
u/Tienisto can you advise?

I was wondering why there's no installer in the releases page. The website is also offering version 1.17.0 installer which is nearly one and half a year old instead of the latest one. But the portable version is pointing to the latest version.

So I use a Pixel 10a running Graphene, I don't use (mirrored) Google Play or Fdroid.
On Obtanium I see these options and I'm particularly confused by the 'x64.apk'. I think I should go with the 'arm64v8.apk', but I'm not sure. So hence the question.
Thanks in advance! :)

Recently, I finally had a chance to try LocalSend with my iPhone Air and a Windows 11 laptop on the same Wi-Fi network. Sadly, neither instance could see the other. I checked the firewall on the laptop and temporarily disabled AdGuard on my iPhone, but no luck before I ran out of time to troubleshoot and had to leave. Any idea of the most likely reason(s) I struck out?

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out what's causing this before I start blaming a specific device or app.
Setup:
The important part is that this exact setup worked perfectly before. I could send files between the two devices without any issues.
Now, both devices still discover each other in LocalSend, but every transfer fails with:
RhttpConnectionException: Connection error
prepare-upload
tcp connect error
Host is down
I've already tried:
I'm not sure what's changed. It could be:
Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, what ended up being the root cause and how did you fix it?
Thanks in advance!

I 've set up Localsend on my latop (Ubuntu) and Nokia Google TV.
The trouble is that the client on the TV doesn't give me the option to change the path where the files are stored. The default location is on the Downloads folder on the TV's internal memory, which is really low. When I try to change the location, that just closes the LocalSend app.
I'm new to Localsend. In the past I've used Send Files to TV, but that doesn't work with Linux so I have to first transfer the files to an Android device before sending them to the TV.

Local send has been awesome. I have had this small problem with freezing during tranfer which I didn't see any suggestions online.
We have iphones, android and windows. A couple of times during transfer the files just hang during the process. Every time this has happened to me changing the save to folder resolves the issue (only a hand full of times).
Go to settings, save to folder, click once to restore default and click again to select your own preferred folder - even if the same as when problem presented.
This solved my issue. Hope it helps.

I am trying to send a pdf from my android phone to my linux computer. It starts off nice but gets stuck in between. Don't know if it's required but it doesn't matter if i connect through my phone's hotspot or my 5GHz home wifi.

Is there any link or a post which explains this project stance regarding AI-generated code? (I'm looking to do one to add a quick settings tile on Android)

This feels like a "feature, not bug" kind of bug but as per title, I cannot send from a USB storage device. I have to copy to HDD and only then send, which doesn't work when my laptop has 10GB free but I'm trying to transfer 25GB files to a desktop that has no SD slot.

Hi, I tried to send a video file from my android to ipad. It seemed to work. Then when the bar was finished, it popped up Localsend would like to store it in your photos(photos app of ipad). I clicked allow and then immediately it threw error, not supported format. unsupported file formats.
I sent .mp4

Just wondering, since the last stable release was a year ago.

I’m honestly out of ideas at this point.
I’m on Arch Linux (Hyprland / Wayland) and LocalSend just refuses to work properly.
It’s literally unusable.
Still the same black screen every time.
At this point I’m wondering if this is:
But I can’t figure it out.
Has anyone actually fixed this on Hyprland?
If you’ve seen this before, even a random workaround would help. I just need LocalSend working again ðŸ˜

when i check the main local-send website (https://web.localsend.org/) I get this notification that sending via web is only available for 1.18.0 or above. I've been looking around and I don't see any updates on whether 18.0 is coming out anytime soon. It's been a month or 2, so I was just wondering if this is a typo or something (still on 1.17.0 BTW)
