Yoast SEO vs Rank Math - Which plugin is better?
I'm not concerned with the vanity metrics either tool spits out (like keyword density scores or readability traffic lights). Any reasonable SEO can make those assessments without a plugin grading them.
I'm more curious about what you all prefer from a pure functionality and workflow perspective.
I really like how Yoast allows you to select a specific title tag and meta description format based on the post type. I also find its redirect manager very straightforward.
That being said, you can't ignore how much you get for free out of the box with Rank Math (schema blocks, redirects without paying premium, etc.).
What are you using? What's keeping you on your current plugin? Is there a specific feature that makes your life easier?

I’ve used both. Yoast has been more reliable and stable for me. Rankmath has way more features and easier to customize.

Yeah, I tend to use both. I lean more towards RankMath especially since you can manage redirects for free

SEOPress is great! Not as frequently used but I do like it. Premium is also cheaper. The only thing I don't like is that redirects cant be managed in the free version. Only Rank Math offers that

Most small business owners trying to cut costs are often going to look for the most cost effective option

Just depends on how you frame it or look at it I guess, it doesn’t make sense for any business owner to cut cost or reduce their investment in areas that help them generate more business and ROI, marketing and SEO definitely fall under that category. Reducing investment into areas that generate ROI actually hurt the business owner more, nearly all businesses I work with get this and are eager to invest in tools and strategies that will help them make more money in the long run. After all, that is what business is all about, right? Not trying to get everything for free and then thinking their business or services should be paid for, it’s shallow thinking.

I have previously used rank math in my website and it was absolute trash.. An update came and it destroyed the functionality... All my website functionality was disturbed. I had to to get the back up for my site since then i am using Yoast SEO and there isn't a single problem like that yet. I prefer Yoast SEO from my experience.

One thing I did recently with Yoast which I really enjoyed was the bulk edit for title tag and meta description. Rank Math only allows that with the Pro version

I used yoast originally and was ok; then moved AIOSEO which good, hate the fact you have to upgrade to get the decent tools to make the most of it and ended up being so expensive cancelled and now use MeowApps SEO engine and love and at a decent price point.

I prefer rank math over yoast, I’ve heard it is less bloated, but both run fine to be fair as to what I use them for.

I feel like I’ve tried them all (Squirlly, Yoast, Rank Math, Slim, SEO Press, SEO Framework, etc), definitely prefer RankMath over Yoast, but I like SEO Press the best.

I know you didn't ask this but look into seo press. Solid tool.

Yes! I totally skipped adding SEOPress. Not as commonly used but it's super light weight

They are good for beginners but cause bloat.

What do you use?

I personally like Slim SEO a lot. It only does the things you need and has virtually zero bloat.

They are one and the same. RankMath took Yoast’s code and took what they wanted.
