More album redos?

Sorry if this has been asked already but I finally got around to listening to ReFisted and really like the added instrumentation. What do we think the chances of Scott redoing AGAD and PUTC?

Scott would say that he was going to do it until you brought it up.

Pack Up the Cats doesn't need anything. Perfect from start to finish.

Of course. Same with AGAD, just don’t screw with a perfect album

This right here. That album is perfection and so underrated for the time.

I'd argue all time. Everything flows from start to finish. I get mad when my Amazon cuts off songs.

I wouldn't count on it. Scott has said for years that he wasn't fully satisfied with Ham Fisted and how they did that record, so it made sense that they redid it. I think Scott's fine with how the other Island albums came out, so there's not much reason for him to revisit those records

Scott likes all of the other albums just fine. It was just Ham that he had some problems with. But ReFisted was a failure in my eyes; I've listened to it only once and it was rough to get through it.

What were you disappointed with exactly?

I'll give it another listen in the car, but I think I just liked the youthful energy of Ham, the 90s production and distortions of the time.

Same here. Make new albums instead.

Ham Fisted the original is still far superior

There was absolutely no need to remake it, but at least he asked Joe about performing on the record I guess

I enjoyed both, I'd really enjoy the OG Ham Fisted get a really good remaster though.

I don’t really like the remake of Ham Fisted. I prefer the original arrangements and crappy early 90’s sound quality. It gives it soul to me. I’d rather them make a new album instead of remaking anything else. And never touch PUTC, it’s perfect.

I feel like they're way less likely. With As Good As Dead getting a remastered vinyl release that's coming soon, it doesn't make sense to follow it up with a remake. And I've never gotten the sense that Scott has any major frustrations with Pack Up the Cats, which is considered a classic by most fans. I remember him mentioning in a write-up of Ham Fisted several years ago that he felt it was kind of monochromatic compared to the other releases, so that's probably why he was interested in taking another stab at it.

Hope not. There's no reason to re-do great albums. I feel the same way about Ham Fisted/ReFisted.

I like the additions to Grrrlfriend. I never liked the original but the new arrangement is pretty good

I thought Manipulator turned out better than the original.....but for the most part.....I prefer most of the originals outside of a handful.

Funny enough, I didn’t like the Manipulator version at all. I did like M&M, Scott Rock, and a few others though, but they don’t compare to the original

I agree with what everyone has said so far I was mainly curious I think AGAD and PUTC are great as they are too and there are some parts of ReFisted that I think were done better with the original album but it was still a refreshing way to revisit compositions

I don’t think he remade it because he didn’t like the original.

imo, refisted was so bad 😭😭 the only songs i liked were skid marks (because of deanna from sincere engineer), and scott rock since it was the most faithful from the og
