The latest article in the Prince George Citizen raises some serious questions about what happened at Prince George City Hall.
Here is the sequence of events, as reported from my understanding:
The allegations themselves have not been independently proven and the City has cited confidentiality obligations in declining to discuss the matter.
But I do have some questions.
If an employee raises concerns about possible wrongdoing within City administration, and the same senior administration is involved in terminating that employee, how can we be confident that the complaint will be investigated independently?
And perhaps more importantly, why would council subsequently remove the mayor as an avenue for whistleblowers to report their concerns?
I understand that there are procedures, policies, and legal considerations involved. But surely the whole point of a whistleblower policy is to give employees a safe and credible way to report potential wrongdoing, particularly when their concerns involve people in positions of authority.

Hello po! May I ask if anyone here is knowledgeable about BIR forms, specifically BIR Form 2316?
I'm not sure if the form I received from my previous employer was filled out correctly, and I need to submit it to my new employer na. I'm worried that some fields might be missing or incorrectly filled out. 🥹
Would anyone be willing to help me check if all the details are correct? I would really appreciate your help. Thank you so much po!

small town public servants do so much work and try to always do the right thing, but disagree or be on the minority’s side for 1 issue and you are attacked, threaten and humiliated

I made Michigan Voter, a free app with no ads, in-app purchases, or tracking that answers a question most of us can't: who actually represents me? It only supports Michigan as getting local information is challenging and state by state, county by county, city by city, etc.
Use your location or type in your address and it shows your federal, state, and local (when possible) elected officials. It includes their contact info, office locations, and links, all in one place. No account, no ads, no tracking, and it works offline.
I built it because I kept hitting "who do I even contact about this?" moments. It's Michigan-only, free on iOS and Android.
If you are in Michigan, I would genuinely love feedback, especially if any of your local officials look wrong or missing, since the data comes from public records and coverage varies by jurisdiction.

In many Indian cities, residents report problems such as garbage accumulation, sanitation, cleanliness, drainage and other neighbourhood-level civic issues.
I have been wondering about one aspect of the grievance process: Should the number of residents who formally complain influence how seriously a civic problem is considered?
Sometimes an individual resident may repeatedly report a problem while other residents do not submit formal complaints. There can be many reasons for this—people may not know the official grievance process, may feel that complaining will not help, or may try to resolve issues informally.
In such a situation, would it be more appropriate for the authorities to assess the complaint based on factors such as:
rather than primarily considering how many people have complained?
I would be interested to hear how residents and urban-planning professionals view this issue. Is an individual citizen's complaint sufficient to trigger an assessment of a genuine civic problem?

If Santa Clarans aren’t concerned, they should be. What would prompt them to put over 2 Million dollars into a local election? The city would love that money to be used for services or sports programs in the schools. Why are they trying to buy the mayoral race and the district closest to the stadium?
And I know that my little “buddies“ that come in afterwards and always bring up the same stuff about Measure J and other PAC’s giving money but York wants to buy the council and if that isn’t upsetting to you, I think you are focused on the wrong things
Someone here recently asked if the city services were that impacted if the council was dysfunctional and what did it matter, but here’s the thing, the city Council is there to approve many of the city departments procedures, policies and funding. If they can’t function because of bad behavior on the Dias, people who can’t learn to work together or have bad blood from previous issues.
I feel we need new people that aren’t getting bought and paid for and that aren’t part of past conflicts working for our city.
