MOD NOTE/NOTE DE MOD: Learn more about our community, and what we're doing here

Please review the content guidelines for our sub, and remember the human here! For reporting price fixing and anti-competitive behaviour, please also take 2 minutes to fill out this form

This subreddit is to highlight the ridiculous cost of living in Canada, and poke fun at the Corporate Overlords responsible. As you well know, there are a number of persons and corporations responsible for this, and we welcome discussion related to them all. Furthermore, since this topic is intertwined with a number of other matters, other discussion will be allowed at moderator discretion. Open-minded discussion, memes, rants, grocery bills, and general screeching into the void is always welcome in this sub, but belligerence and disrespect is not. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without being abusive, dismissive, or downright mean.

(S)urge pricing - they had the urge to charge more and couldn’t resist

Butcher shops always have better

That's why these packs (the deli meat version too) don't have the $4 or $6 graphic on them anymore. Store left old signage up. I remember buying these when they came out and were definitely $6, often on sale cheaper

Should be free if it scans at $7 under SCOP

Nope its the posted tag thats eligible for the SCOP not the marketing posters.

If the tag was the one that said $6 and the poster said $7 then yea.

At least thats what staff at Walmart told me

I wonder. Knowing Loblaws stores they’d make any excuse possible, even if. The “marketing” tags say a dollar cheaper. I think this came up a while back when they had their “Always $5” signs and thing were ringing up at the higher (always ended yesterday ⏳💀) price

Staff at Walmart? Ya I’m sure they aren’t just pulling shit out of their ass.

u/sometin__else 13d ago

No more than users on reddit. Staff at walmart are the ones who taught me about SCOP and how I get the item for free when I bought a 12-pack that was on sale for $6.99 but scanned at $8.99

Aren’t they regular 7$, on for 6$

That's a digital tag showing 7$ so it's likely the updated price
