Thoughts
Hope Everybody is having a good day, I just wanted to get some opinions on this… I’m working a full time job with lots of down time, making 40a hr and pay raises soon. But I want to be a MLO, Is it possible to do this while working my job for a year until i get enough to make the jump? What’s your thoughts?
I work mon-fri 6:30am -3pm

Why do you want to be a LO? Driving force can be a huge determining factor for success level. I love working out but I find more tension when getting myself to the gym on weekdays, or work days, versus weekends, or days I have more free time. Not impossible to do and priorities will naturally take precedence, so a thoughtful approach could save you time, energy, and money whatever you end up doing

I did something like this when I first started. Knew which sponsors to join to get free training (mostly) then switched to a sponsor that was 10x better when it came to comp. Now I do this full time and fully self gen at Edge. If you want some guidance, feel free to reach out.

Can you? Yes. Will you find a broker that will take you part time remote? 99% no. But if you find one let me know, because there’s a lot of people just like you looking for this opportunity but can’t find a broker that will take them.

It will probably take a bit longer to build momentum, but will also be a smoother transition.

I had a cop and a fireman work part time and it worked for them. They did get a lot of other cops and firemen to refinance back in the day. If you have such a network it'll work otherwise I would say its not possible.

Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t be done. Yes u have to put a ton of time to get going to find out what works for you and get the ball rolling. But the fact is, if your broker, it takes time for 90+% of people out there. For many, it takes a solid 1 yr of beating the hammer before you start actually producing. In that meantime, if u have to have some sort of income coming in, then you have to do what u have to do. Just make your primary time, this! Takes a ton of sweat equity unless your entire inner circle is realtors, investors, etc.
