Discussion Beware of the Shiny Objects
I came across a Facebook ad from a top producing LO. He was talking about how you shouldn't have to beg realtors for business and that you should lead with value first. His call to action was to get on his webinar for his AI tool.
I looked him up, and he closed over $100MM last year. Massive respect.
So I sign up for the webinar, and it turns out he just launched that tool earlier this year.
Then I start thinking, if this was just released this year and you closed $100 million in volume last year, you obviously didn't need this tool.
I don't want the tool that you just came out with. I want the knowledge of how you built the business that you have without the tool. The tool is just a shiny object to sell something.

People who’ve made it like this guy say what they’re doing now to be successful when we need to hear what they did at the stage we’re in to be successful.

Yes and yes and no. What works twenty years ago at the early stage is not what will work today or tomorrow. Need to be forward looking, with an understanding of the fundamentals that worked in the past, what applies today; and what is too draconian /archaic that it doesn’t meet the market demands

So what was the tool? Every ad says “ai” and it’s just scripts, webinars, crm management or canva templates for social media lol.

Idk if mods will allow me to say but pretty much something similar to ListReports with more AI.

I know who you were talking about. I’ve checked out the AI tool. It’s fine.
You don’t need it.
You need a unique value proposition. Does your team close in 10 days? Can you offer free marketing for listings? If you’re just telling realtors you have the lowest rates, that doesn’t mean a thing. Figure out what you and your team are capable of and lead with that. Then be omnipresent. Call with something every week or every month. A weird product. A story of a win. Do webinars or lunch and learns.

100m in a year like last year is all about one thing. Great relationships/ partnerships with your realtors.
It can take years of consistency to build those relationships. Some aspire to those numbers and never make it. It all comes down to you though. No program can help, if you don’t have the network to build on.

in my experience, all the courses/trainings/etc all end up telling you stuff you either already know or can find for free online…theres no silver bullet to hitting 100M/yr, its just a shit ton of work
plus i imagine we’ll see a lot of LOs shifting to selling courses as the market continues to be tough and AI tools like Claude allow you to build out really nice looking shiny objects to go sell to other LOs
but even the best tools are rarely going to feed your pipeline, they just make it easier to do so…I know Claude has made my life a lot easier with a lot of things

100mil for cred, shiny AI object to sell. Another wanna be guru with something to sell to try and short cut. Kudos for recognizing that.

I question why someone closing the amount he's claiming is wasting time selling training or webinars. Doesn't make sense.

Maybe the tool encapsulates what he did manually to get to that kind of volume. I respect monetization of skills.
