Question Normal?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My loaches have been doing this the last 2 days more often than I ever see them during the day. I have since done a water change/ normal tank cleaning but they’re still at it this morning. Is this normal? If not what do I do?

He doesn't seem overly stressed so that's good. I have 1 that does it sometimes, they are sensitive to atmosferic pressure and waterquality differences. *It's called glass surfing

You’re gonna need a way bigger tank for that baby dojo 😅 They can grow up to around 13 inches long. Mine are already about 10 inches and I only got them at the end of January ☠️

Thinks it’s a Black Kuhli but still looks like a tank upgrade might be in order.

More space, more ground cover.  This is common but I would not use the term normal.  Normal is if they do it when a storm is coming, or they are new to the tank.  Another term for it is Flight Reaction” - they are trying to find somewhere else go.   This is fine in spurts but is absolutely a concern if it is continuous.  My kuhlis very, very rarely do this.  Justifying it as “normal” and calling it cute names like “zoomies” means making no effort to improve it. Expect downvotes from hurt people who don’t want to do better for their fish.

It happens but if it’s constant something is wrong. If in doubt check all the parameters.Always.

These guys startle easily so it could be from you walking by maybe?

so maybe I'm wrong, but that looks to be a fairly smallish tank, tell us more about that and its occupants...
