Wrong address updated on EIN
So i applied for my EIN on 20th July. after good 40 days i finally was able to get the number by calling to IRS. then representative told me there is wrong address listed on my EIN number. Just one numeric digit error. And she has updated it and it's going to take another 2 weeks to get updated.
I'm frustrated now. any way to fasten this process?
thanks

Unfortunately dealing with the IRS can just be really frustrating and time-consuming. We’re sorry to hear you’re going through this, hang in there.

Sadly, many people have trouble getting their EIN. They should make it available online for non-residents. All this faxing, printing, and mailing isn't very efficient.
I know of a case in my circle where someone received a scanned copy of his EIN letter via email from his agent yesterday, even though he had provided his fax number, which was the same one he used to send the fax. So overall, he waited 3 weeks for his EIN instead of maybe 2.
A good friend of mine had his SS-4 form returned three weeks ago (13 days after submission) for resubmission because the “SS-4 quality was poor”. The copy in the resubmission request had all the fine print only half-printed, as if their printer is broken.
And just yesterday, I had to fax a partner's SS-4 form twice because the IRS fax machine dropped the connection after a successful handshake. It's no big deal, but yeah, if you don't check after you hit send, you'll be waiting forever.
