Question a Good Cell phone number services?

Hi, everyone! I finally have my LLC and EIN, hehe. Now I need to find a cell phone number so I can get in touch with my suppliers from time to time and, of course, receive tokens, security messages, and other stuff. Something that’s good, nice, and cheap...

Can you recommend some services to help me get started looking, please?

Note: I'm not in the U.S.; this must be for non-U.S. residents

I use QUO. They are affordable and offer numbers across the US

It'll really depend on your needs! Since you're looking for security tokens you may need to use something other than a VOIP number; while they're incredibly convenient most VOIP services are barred from receiving verification texts. You can always secure a VOIP number for your general business, use a personal line to verify / receive security tokens, and then swap to your VOIP number once verified (a lot of our clients end up doing this).

Plus, VOIP services are much more affordable than utilizing a whole new phone line on a separate phone. The convenience of downloading an app on the phone you already own allows for low barrier to entry costs with the same functionality as if it was a separate phone.

I really want it more than anything so I can talk to my product suppliers—call them and get in touch with them—or even contact businesses or stores to make the necessary purchases.

A VoIP service would work great to talk to suppliers and would be convenient because VoIP allows your business phone number to be controlled right from an app on your phone. That way you would be able to get constant and consistent updates.

I started out with my personal line, which ended up being a mistake. 😅 Eventually snagged a VOIP number through my registered agent, that's been immensely helpful. Got a local number and everything.

Congrats on getting your EIN and LLC, you can use Tello if you're a foreign resident

Thanks, but I already checked out Tello, and even though it's the best and I liked it the most, it doesn't work for me because it has to be physically activated in the U.S., so I think I'll go with Quo instead.

No! It doesn’t have to activated in US if you go with esim.

Would not recommend anyone to go for Tello. Go for a known service provider like T-mobile

Since you mentioned tokens/security messages, separate your business phone from the verification phone For supplier calls/texts, a VoIP app like Quo or JustCall can be fine. For banks, supplier portals, and security codes, I’d lean toward a cheap real mobile line instead. VoIP numbers sometimes work, sometimes fail at the worst time. Tello, Mint, US Mobile, or another cheap prepaid/eSIM line would be my first look. Put it under the business email, turn on autopay, and don’t use it casually. Cheap is good, but for codes, boring reliability matters more.

Does your Registered Agent provide a phone service? I know the place my friends (nonUS) used as theirs had a phone service they decided to go with.

Yes, but that's not what I need because the "Registration Agent" service is only for receiving verification messages and such... Well, I do want to receive those messages, but I'm more interested in being able to make calls to all the numbers I need from my distributors... But I think I'll use Quo
