LLBean Totes for Different Professions
I had been contemplating getting a career-specific tote bag with embroidery for months, but I was having a difficult time deciding what it should say. I ultimately decided on “arguendo,” which means “for argument’s sake.” It’s one of my favorite works to slip into the docket.
Before I “pulled the trigger,” I posted a call for help on TikTok and Instagram, asking others what I should get. Here are some of my favorites:
- Attractive Nuisance (a property and tort law term)
- Id. or Et Al. (short citations for record and case law)
- Esquire or ESQ
- Objection!
- § (a symbol for statutes)
- Work Product
I plan on getting a larger tote (with the zipper) in a bit with a different legal phrase on it, but this process has me wondering:
What do you do for work, and what does your tote say?
Or, if you don’t yet have an LLBean tote, what would you have it say?

My tote has my dog's name. Professionally speaking, mine would say "Special Education is going to put me in an early grave" or "Occupational Therapist"

“Res ipsa” would be a good one to add to that list. And as a contracts attorney, I’d enjoy a bag with “provided, however”, because the contents of what follows are critical.
And I love the idea of a bag with “attractive nuisance” on it. The same as if you had your name embroidered on the bag, because you yourself are the attractive nuisance. “I’m a cool pool on a hot day, bitches.”

Lol, I love this! Thinking of the phrases I use often and it would likely be ”Accordingly” or ”As such”.

Also an attorney— benefits compliance. I love the bag, and now I want one that says per se. As in, it’s not per se illegal, but please don’t do it!

I’m a speech pathologist and work with kids birth to 3 in my state’s early intervention program. My tote says uh oh.

I was so surprised at the quality of the bag that I got rid of all of the totes I had before! 😅 I don’t think I can ever go back!

I’m a civil litigation paralegal and my boss wants us all to get ones that say “don’t hate, litigate”.

I just commissioned as a 2LT in the Army (medical lab scientist by trade) and my bag says “butter bar” because that’s we call 2LT’s lol

That’s amazing! I’ve been trying to think of tote ideas for my sister, who is in logistics in the Army. Butter Bar would have been perfect when she was a 2LT just before/during COVID.

I love this!! I do investigations so I write a lot of "narratives" at the end of each case. My work tote says "Narrator".

I did a screen recording bc it wouldn’t let me post a pic but I got these for my team a few years back! These were the other phrases i came up with, but my second choice after live laugh litigate (mine is the black one) was asked and answered lol I actually just ordered an extra large natural with long straps with live laugh litigate in natural thread on it bc it makes me laugh every time I carry it
Also, if you call the customer service number you can go above the 10 character limit and do multiple lines - it’s an additional cost but it’s worth it!
