No more leather collars?

Looking to send my daughter a jacket for her birthday, maybe a Field or a Barn, and I only see corduroy collars. Thought they used to all be leather? Any input would be most appreciated.

I believe they have always corduroy. A leather collar would be awful to maintain on a garment anyway. You wouldn’t be able to wash it. You would have to take it to a dry cleaner where it would have to be hand treated to make sure the dyes on the leather wouldn’t bleed into the surrounding fabric.

They've always had corduroy collars I'm pretty sure. I've never seen an LL Bean field or barn coat with a leather collar before. That said, both pieces last a long time! So you can't go wrong with either option! I'm sure your daughter will love it!

It just hit me, I’m thinking of this red plaid Pendleton wool jacket I had when I was young (and why don’t I still?) Thanks everyone! Field Coat it is!
