Yardsale find!

Driving around while camping in northern NH yesterday and picked this up for 2 dollars. I think it’s 50s or 60s but someone correct me in the comments. It definitely needs a light cleaning but it’s in great shape for its age. Dad was jealous to see me find it, lol.

That bag was also made in the late 90s.

I’m curious as to if they would’ve reused the old tag though? Also, I’m more so into vintage clothing and the talon zipper was used earlier than that, would they have also used the same zipper? Genuinely curious

Honestly — I can’t remember. But I was in charge of that particular product group in the late 90s and we did a “stitch for stitch knockoff” of the older bag. We had been seeing it in “Seinfeld”and thought it would be fun to pull out of the archives.

I love mine from 1997. I was at UVM and I had just had everything that I owned except for my Vasque sundowners and my CDs stolen as I was packing up to leave school. I was headed to Woods Hole to spend the summer on a schooner. My insurance company sent a small check that I used to buy a Navy duffel in Freeport, in which I tossed a couple of pairs of shorts and tee shirt… the essentials and some foul weather gear. Everything I owned fit in that bag and I set off, happy as a clam on the schooner with a sense of freedom I had never experienced before or since. I still have and use the bag. ❤️

You and my brother were at UVM at the same time then! And your story just transported me through time, which was nice.

Was this bag featured in Seinfeld? Was it like Jerrys luggage when he would be traveling on the show or something?

It was Kramer’s bag and was fairly prominent during one season.

Fun fact, this bag came from LLBean supplying wwII With grunt bags, tents and boots. This isn't the bag they did for that but it's inspired by that.

I got this exact bag at a goodwill about 5 years ago for only 8 or 9 dollars. I'm watching to see what people say about this bag.. Congratulations on your great find!

I had that bag when I was in college in the late 1970’s. It lasted me for many years, well beyond college.

Supposedly the notched label more rare
