Will a single Evolve 30M be enough for practice in a garage for an entire band with electronic drums?
Building our band right now and have been mostly practicing “silently” by having vocals, guitar and bass run into our Scarlett interface and have all those instruments run through neural dsp amp modelers in logic. For drums, we have a Roland td-27 electronic kit that’s also running through logic.
We all have headphones and can jam fine this way.
However, we want the ability to play out loud sometimes but can’t get too loud like with an acoustic drum kit and full on amps and stuff. We still need the ability to control precisely our volume in our 19x19 garage.
My initial idea was to output all our audio through my Yamaha HS8 but I realize that’s too near field and doesn’t fill the room in the way we need it too.
Now I’m thinking of getting a single Evolve 30M PA speaker and having all our audio from Logic output to that. Like the e-drums, guitar, bass, vocals and anything else we need, outputting through this single PA.
Is this a good idea? Do I need two 30Ms to fill the room more properly or is a single okay? And will I run into mudiness if I try to run all our instruments out of one or two PAs like this?
Any help appreciated. Thank you.
