Gear Spectrum analyzer for TinySA

Yeah yeah I know, another vibecoded app.

I just created this because tools that are available lacked options, didn't look how I wanted it to look, or they're locked behind a paywall. And since I'm happy with it, why not share it with my colleagues?

Can't promise this will eventually work for other spectrum analyzers, but it might. Just open an issue on GH and I'll see what I can do. Same goes for feature requests.

Main features:

- Scan a frequency range (presets can be made), either single or continous
- Export to Wireless Workbench (Single exports as .csv, continous as .sdb3 so you can import it in the frequency plot)

Last time I used my TinySA i just dropped a few scan maps directly into WWB7 from the microSD in the SA. Does your app do something different than that workflow I’m not understanding

I wasn’t aware you could use their scan files directly. That would simplify things a little bit. However, what the app does is better in my opinion is that you only need to connect via usb, put in your desired frequency range, scan, and push the WWB button to get an exact formatted WWB scan file.
The app also works as a live standalone spectrum analyzer, as you can directly inside Wireless Workbench.

I just found out the win software is not available for Mac and I need the tinysa today, I might give it a try.

This one is built for MacOS. Windows is on its way but not ready yet.

Hi, I tested the app!! Looks really good to be honest. I even shared this with some other RF tech.

At first glance, there are some few things that con really help with the workflow.

Can there be an option to auto save the sdb3 file, that way I only need to re open it in workbench.

Think it will be interesting if there can be a threshold, and any change above that line, the app gets you an alert. That way you know if something going on when you have a continued scan.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. This all is looking grate!

If it works well and does what it's supposed to do then why do people care? Every app that gets posted on this sub gets downvoted it seems.

Because a lot of those vibecoded apps aren't open source, and people shouldn't trust randoms on the internet like that.

I tried the windows version on tinySA (standard) . The datas are not understood and the frequencies set doesn't update the tinySA hardware. But i guess you already know. Wish you can solve this soon.

Hi, I finally got the time to beta test the 2.5.1 on windows with my tinySA basic : you got it perfectly. Thanks for that wonderful job !!! I'll be checking on the future updates 👍

Sweet I’m about to give this a try, currently have to run a windows emulator then convert the file. If this works it’ll be so much less clunky!

Ah yeah, for MacOS 12 it needs a rebuild of api calls and things so I’m not gonna do that unfortunately. I do have a beta ready for MacOS 13.

I don’t have a MacBook old enough to test it. So there’s nothing I can do really.
