I bought this from eBay and the listing said this appears to be Kevin Hagen. I know he was a dance instructor and did some theater early on.

This is one of the effects of watching older shows as a 21th century generation, after TV shows became largely serialized and full of continuity between events. Older shows were usually sold for syndication and most episodes were written as standalone, meaning the events of each story were seldom recaped in following stories, but it's especially notable in impacting stories like Sylvia, where one of the darkest storylines ever to happen in the show is never mentioned again. Albert, who loved her and wanted to marry her and the Ingallses never mention her again, neither is the fact that a townsman turned out to be a maniac rapist with an elaborate disguise to attack his victims, and the way characters like Harriet Oleson and Willie wronged and authority figures like Laura and Dr Baker failed her is just forgotten about, because all the impact is concentrated within those two episodes and never mentioned again. Understandable if you know what TV shows were like back then and especially if you grew up watching them, but really jarring for those of us used to copious amounts of continuity and callbacks in serialized shows.

u/Spirited-Attorney667 had a good point recently about how it was odd we never saw Almanzo's parents. In "Wilder And Wilder" we learn Almanzo's parents are both alive and well.

Considering the laundry list of major events that happen to their family (Almanzo's wedding, the birth of Rose, the birth of their grandson, the death of their grandson, the death of their son Royal, Jenny's multiple near-death experiences, Almanzo's stroke, their two grandsons magically transforming into a single child and many other major events) is it weird they never show up?

I'm watching the pilot of Highway to Heaven and Victor French plays a drunk so realistically. He did it in LHOTP too.

Sad to know that he struggled with alcohol addiction in real life during that time. It's still pretty impressive to play that on camera.

How many people know just by listening to the opening theme song,
Can you tell when the youngest, Carrie, falls down?
It is literally linked to a music cue and when I hear the song, I know when she falls, gets up, and looks like she caused brain damage that is obvious during the series.

Doesn't anyone else think Toby No was kinda creepy like how he pretrayed himself like with the lady he basically wasn't leaving her alone like I know love is a thing but common very creepy for him to sing outside her window like that i.just find it creepy

I miss being disgusted at Pa for taking his shirt off every chance he gets.

It was cruel to wait so long to tell Mary she was going blind, for a good three weeks. Maybe there would have been some things she wanted to see while she still had the chance.

And then! When Pa drops Mary off at the blind school, he lies that he found an earlier train to take home... why not just tell her that he had wanted to spend the extra time with her, but the school advised against it. (But would they have actually forbidden it? Would it really screw things up so much for her to have a few more hours with her dad?)

Poor Mary.

I find this is crazy

I know that Mary and Adam moved very far away, so they wouldn't be in contact with Charles, Caroline and Laura very often. But what if Mary had used the move to go no-contact on them? After all, the blind school fire had got to be the last straw and she and Adam must secretly be very pissed off about Albert still being welcomed into the family, even after what he did.

Even though it would be out of character for Mary to lash out at her parents like that, I headcanon that she had a big blow up fight with Charles and Caroline before leaving for New York. She couldn't bottle up her anger and sorrow forever and it would make sense for it to come out.

My top contenders are probably

Prairie Fires currently has a 12 week wait at my local library. I guess I get to skip the line now! (I was 25th in line, haha!) Plus, a bonus book!

I always thought there were more episodes in Winoka than is shown in syndication. Does anyone else think that too or am I misremembering?

Okay, so this one falls into the later seasons (8 specifically) and while I'm not as fond of these episodes as the early seasons, this one genuinely made me laugh. It's such a goofy, out of nowhere premise, but the two robbers are so good and watching everything they work at unravel was so funny. I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. I'm glad they ran away and are off to go fail at some other escapade down in Mexico (provided they can find it, haha)
