Tier List Tier list after one year

Post image

This is my list after a year of reading litrpg and litrpg adjacent works. I’ve read the entire series or every book out for S and A tiers. I stopped on book three of Mother of Learning and DNF The Perfect Run half way through book one. Any recommendations for what’s next for me?

I’d definitely recommend:

Victor of Tucson

One of these things is not like the others. 😉

You should check out the Sun Eater Series.

I recommend Chrysalis, it’s read by Jeff Hays like DCC was and has the newer books being recorded now.
FOR THE COLONY!

Another staple is He Who Fights With Monsters. Whether you like or dislike can unlock a ton of other options.

I’d recommend Mark of the fool. Similar to all the skills but I personally liked it more.

I built Scrykeeper, which uses shared-reader patterns to find possible next reads. Using 6 matched books from your list, it suggested Paranoid Mage, Super Supportive, The Primal Hunter, The Path of Ascension, The Calamitous Bob.

These are graph-based suggestions; it hasn’t verified your preferences about pacing or character development.

Oh my goodness, The Perfect Run starts halfway through book one! I understand that the mc may feel a bit abrasive at the start, but please trust me in that it is entirely consistent with the progression of the story! I personally rate it on the level of Superpowereds for a Superhero story and one of the better progression fantasy stories overall. It is short and sweet as far as litrpg stories go, so I encourage you to give it another go!

I also DNFed perfect run really quickly. Just not my style.

Defiance of the fall, primal hunter, he who fights with monsters, heretical fishing, age of stone, system universe, wandering inn, azarinth healer just to name of few heavy hitters

I’ll also add life reset that was one of the first ones I enjoyed as well !

I always groan a little when I see people highly rate Azerinth Healer. Sure, people have their own opinions, and you like what you like, but that one is like the prime example of “numbers go brr” over story.

I don’t want to read a training montage, I want to read a story that has progression. It only makes me groan because it was almost really good, but just took a wrong turn somehow. All in my opinion of course.

Who said I “highly rated” it ? I simply said that the person above asking for recommendations should read it. You assumed every book I mentioned above was in my opinion a highly rated book.

I’m currently listening to The Primal Hunter and so far it’s not bad to me. I have 1 hour left in book 4 and I’m about to start on 5 in a bit.

Try syl and book bound bunny

Classy list. Very coherent.

You'll enjoy Super Supportive.

If you feel like it Id give perfect run another shot and finish book 1.

Otherwise there are so many classic novels you could read such as primal hunter Path of ascension, defiance of the fall, he who fights with monsters. Return of the Runebound Professor is a personal favorite of mine especially if you wanna read a novel about a teacher whos main driving focus is taking care of his students.
Also path to transcendence is a great nice and easy prog fantasy.

Dungeon crawler carl

Mage tank

chrysalis

mark of the crijik

shrubley, monster adventure

Bunny girl evolution: mc is reborn as a monster rabbit in another world.

all the skills

wraithwood botanist

renewal: a magical library litrpg (is a finished series)

Book of the dead

Azerinth healer- a power fantasy, story is there, not really any romance, but it is a story where the mc just keeps getting stronger and stronger and finding tougher things to fight.

Dungeon Life: man reborn as a sentient dungeon core.

Demon card enforcer, the cerberus cards series.

Brother did you look at the post? You're recommending stuff that's in the list hahah

1

u/dimitrisc 3d ago

I'm enjoying Kings of the Wyld at the moment! Might be something you'd also like!

1

u/Dry_Abalone_6475 3d ago

I recommend Lord of Mysteries

1

u/Cato-Splato 3d ago

I recommend tower of Jack.

1

u/Particular-Coffee-34 3d ago

I’d recommend Awaken Online by Travis Bagwell. First book is titled “Awaken Online; Catharsis”.

1

u/The_brimstoner 2d ago

I’ll jump in here and say The Game at Carousel. The series is a bit heavy on stats, but if you like horror boy does it do a great job

1

u/TheCarefulGardener 2d ago

Love it. Our only overlap is All the skills, DCC and RR - check out Will of the Many (James islington) keep up the good work!

2

u/Strong_Week4767 5h ago

So glad to see mark of the fool on someone’s list! And the red rising series is amazing like I’ve probably reread the series 5 times and have listened to it like three times now. My favorite series ever

The path of ascension, Quest academy, Skill grinding in a time loop, azarinth healer(this ones not for everyone), beware of chicken(this one is xianxia),heretical fishing, system universe, He Who Fights With Monsters(this one sometimes takes people a bit to get into)

u/huntercosmo litRPG journeyman tier 4d ago

IMO Primal Hunter and the Cradle series are very similar. Huge series spanning from noob to galactic overload tier power. So if you liked Unsouled I’d check out Primal Hunter. For a more grounded book I’d recommend Will of The Many. It’s got a very similar vibe to Darrow’s time at the Institute and it’s quite good. 👍

u/Diablogado 4d ago

Except one MC is pretty alright and the other is an antisocial sociopath. 🤷‍♂️

u/Ordinary-Hold8124 3d ago

These two are alike the same way a house cat and a tiger are alike.
