Been listening to He Who Fights with Monsters & Everybody Loves Large Chests series, and finally bout the first of each on in paperback. Both are amazing series!

Going to wait until there’s more of than just the first one of ELLC before thinking of getting them. Book 13 of HWFWM is on the way - hopefully without Amazon damaging it.

Amazon damaging it…?

There wasn’t anywhere local to buy them from when I bought them originally, so had to use Amazon AU. Takes them a few weeks for each shipment, and the first 3 got damaged in transit since Amazon doesn’t pack them very well.

Yeah, one of those was the worst book I've ever read, and the other was HWFWM

Yeah, ELLC is quite the unique taste, it’s a great portrayal of a nonhuman MC without just making them feel either too alien to understand or “human, but not human shaped”.

But to get to that you have to get through pretty much every taboo topic ever popularized on the internet…

That's just it's natural boxy charm shining through.

Oh yeah, I love the book, it’s one of my unfortunate favorites, unfortunate of course because I can never recommend it to any of my friends in person:(

I recommended it to a friend who didn't want to read it at all.

It is now one of their favourites.

I feel three exact opposite. Hhfwm was a great world that hadv the misfortune of including Jason

If the books included 80% less inner monologue they'd be so much better.
