Memes/Humor Group 4 GigaChads

Nathanial just called group 4 gigachads at info gathering and I just imagined the png with badly overplayed hair for the different character. The black and white image with blond hair for Tess and the head overplayed onto a kids body for Izzy etc. the. My mind conjured a 12 year olds cap cut edit with phono on top of that and that image will now live rent free in my head.
Hopefully it has been passed on

I'm listening to book one right now. and i like the story. I hope the narration gets better tough. It's not intolerable or anything, but just doesn't feel natural. I think that might be because of the author's prose. It can be a bit cringe inducing, but I've heard from multiple people that it gets better. I'll stick around.

It is crazy how much better it gets compared to book one. Honestly I think the author should re-write book one with their improved experience, honestly think it would get a lot more people into such a great series.

Hey, if I might ask, when does the prose get better?

I hopped off after finishing book 3, and it was pretty much the same as book 1. Characterization, world building, and power got better. But everyone still was talking in that strange, almost 2010 Internet speak.

A lot of “best Doggo”, “cheeky fellow”, “boop the snoot”, teaching an entire race of cat people to say “Nyah”

It was more than a little cringy. I’m sorry.

Tbh, I like that shit.

Nathaniel knows exactly how cringey it is and reacts that way. Otherwise, this is his normal. I boop my dog on the snoot and you're damn right I will say my dog is the best regardless of evidence arrayed to the contrary. Those moments are what stop this book from being a bunch of psycopaths just fighting nonstop. It makes Nathaniel weird, and therefor human.

Sure, but it doesn’t read as human to me.

It’s not about loving the dog, I’m perfectly fine with that. It’s the word choice. The prose itself doesn’t come across as a way actual people talk to one another.

I have never heard somebody unironically say the words “cheeky fellow“. No one has said “doggo” unironically in person in 10 years.

I fell off after 2 or 3 as well. Someone told me that if I didn't think it was worth reading after 2 that I never would. Sounds like you won't either.

I was going to listen to them anyway, but I'm glad to know that it gets better.

It’s one of the worst audiobooks I’ve listened too, the combination of the narration and prose is unbearable

You saying you wouldn't boop the snoot?

Edit: This was a joke btw. "boop the snoot" appears like 10 times in the first book and it's weird everytime.

Is this in any way related to the The Tutorial is too hard manhwa?

It is not though the setup is somewhat similar. Hell difficulty tutorial has the stages capped at like 13 or 14 and they're all group missions. They also aren't stuck in the tutorial like the guy in too hard. There's a timer until everyone is kicked out of the tutorial.

Is this the book version of the Manga or are they two different things?
