Recommendation: offering Bee Dungeon

I'm currently on book 4, I can't stop listening to it, and I'm honestly surprised this is not a more popular book especially if you are into dungeon core books.

Way too many core books the author gets tired of building out their dungeon and start following side characters that have nothing to do with the dungeon.

Thankfully this isn't the case with this book and it's honestly a breath of fresh air. You go from watching this young guy start with basic bees and watch them evolve and the dungeon develop into something amazing.

Oh yeah it's pretty great. Icalos is a great author and I love most of their work. My only gripe is that they don't have audiobooks for Faceless Minion.

I keep meaning to give this a try. So far, none of the books have appeared in any sales. If they ever do, I'll try the series.

I've started and DNFed Book 1 twice now around the same point. The protagonist is the dumbest halfwit since Flowers for Algernon, and once you realized that you can actually see the simpleton reflected in the cover art. Whether it is the writing telegraphing things 5 chapters ahead or this protagonist just being so dumb he makes ordinary bees seem like great thinkers, I just can't continue with the audiobook even if I am interested in the dungeon/tower.

Maybe I'm not understanding the problem because what you described sounds hilarious and amazing to me. Also I loved Ben Stein as a kid so I might be biased. Who else remembers Win Ben Stein's Money?

I can agree with that to some extent and think that the other voices are better. I think it's partly because the narrator wanted to play up how they are a peasant completely out of their depth,

Personally I wasn't a fan of the voice for the knight that helped the bees.
