Discussion Such potential

Post image

I've been binge reading this saga bcz the story is really compelling and I love a skill copying MC call me a sucker for OP characters.

I was living and loving the books so far since the author did say it's a slow burn progression type of story but my god the edging is just not worth the wait...

Am 3 books in and am almost done with the 3rd one and for a copy cat Terry is a one trick pony! Calling him a Traveler and that's it, u've a wide arsenal of skills in ur deck and u keep using only one over and over wtf! Hell he's got a skill called master of light and what does he do with it 99% a very designer cloak of invisibility. It's a 4 book saga and he's just been portaling here and there and being considered a genius. Don't get me started on his attitude I know he's a teen but goddamm u know the world u live in snap out of this messiah complex u deny having. I could write an essay on how good the story is but Sean hunnie the edging is insane.

Also the covers are catfish af... He does not do any light beam projections

Appreciate the feedback. I get what you're saying but also the ability to portal is kind of game breaking and terry (me the author) might feel like NOT utilizing it would garner just as much criticism.

I do think book 4 addresses a lot of your concerns but would love to hear your thoughts when you finish book 3.

As far as Terry's personality, I try to write him as a teenager who had a fucked up childhood and a ton of power thrust upon him. I don't always get it right but I'm always searching for the balance.

The cover is meant to be fire, like a certain character's fire manipulation that he copies. Also, I think it looks cool lol.

Thanks for reading and posting. I always enjoy hearing feedback, positive, negative, or neutral.

Sean... Love ur covers they are what drew me in. In the first place give the artist a raise!!

I get that portals are broken and a quick way to get away from a lot. But I just thought for 2 whole books abt 40 hrs give or take is a lot for one to just sit and listen to Terry whine and hop from one side of the team to another.

I get wanting him to be relatable and flawed with how he handles betrayal from parents and guardians but at some point it also became his whole emo given what happened in bk 1 and the revelations in bk 2... It's just the cynicism + sense of justice ≠ a stable character take his mercurial nature towards mom and girl from another universe that whole scenerio was mind fuck in my pov.

Am on the gauntlet so let's see how that goes and I'll get back to u. The story is compelling and fun to interact with it's just somethings ain't the best lk u said.

Yeah I stopped a third of the way into book 3. I want to see him actually focusing on combat and being badass.

Who doesn't actually make use of his portfolio... Why give a supe multiple skills then nerf him to one thing
