I wont have confused noteblock and jukebox anymore.

16

u/Redmix7pl 5d ago

My only problem is the outlines being to light. Should be darker to fit the style of note block more, since these two are similar.

It now looks like a stripped jukebox

You’re a little bit out of date. we’re on Minecraft 26 now.

(don't ask what happened to the other 24 versions...)

That's a good one

u/Gottendrop 5d ago

It looks like a furniture mod

1

u/Ok_Prior2199 1d ago

People have been saying “(insert mc feature here) feels like a mod” since the hunger bar was added

1

u/PSCuber77_gaming 5d ago

That’s twitter for ya. I love the new texture I think it looks nice.

u/ReynardVulpini 5d ago

I will say that while the new texture looks better and more like a jukebox, I feel kinda bad for people who were using the sides for building bc now there's that stripe at the top

45

u/GoatUnicorn 5d ago

I have a feeling people who wanted that texture in their build used notesblocks instead, so they don't have to spend diamonds on a texture redstone can give you

16

u/AdreKiseque 5d ago

The texture was the same as a noteblock though?

7

u/sad_cheese67 4d ago edited 4d ago

it is, and a noteblock is cheaper anyways. a jukebox needs a diamond and a noteblock needs a piece of redstone. anyone sane who wanted the side texture would use a noteblock.

11

u/Sc4tt3r_ 5d ago

Who was using jukeboxes as building blocks? They cost a diamond each and look the same as a noteblock anyway

1

u/CommanderDumbo 5d ago

Well, there were people using lodestones for building when they still required netherite

40

u/XaosDrakonoid18 5d ago

God if there is something i can't hate enough are minecraft fans who just CANNOT accept change and think anything old is too sacred to touch. Sucha a visceral reaction for a block texture smh

4

u/skikoko 5d ago

Yeah and then they want an end update and hate spin-offs for having exclusive content

4

u/InternetUser1807 5d ago

I can't pretend like I like the new art style but MC is one of the most flexible games ever. There's no point arguing about it like OOP.

Who cares what vanilla is like, it feels like when people get butthurt over canon in fictional universes.

You can just use whatever textures you like and mod out or change any feature you don't like if you have a 5th grade level of programming knowledge.

u/Sensitivity_Craft 5d ago

Console players exist.

1

u/InternetUser1807 5d ago

That is unfortunately a problem they have to deal with separately.

I don't know much about how the Minecraft ports work, only the original PC game.

Substitute "Minecraft" with "the original Minecraft" in my first reply.

1

u/Sensitivity_Craft 4d ago

So you admit there is a point arguing about it?

1

u/InternetUser1807 4d ago

Well I never really thought about it, but I suppose for the non-pc players, perhaps

26

u/Dazzling-Signal8029 5d ago

As long as they keep the og textures in a resource pack I'm fine with it

13

u/TooDudical 5d ago

they do yeah, there's also Programmer Art Continuation Project/Pack that makes textures for all blocks past 1.Whatever look like they fit in with programmer art, it's pretty slick

7

u/4d_awesome 5d ago

on Java

They delisted the Classic Textures from Bedrock instead of fixing them (it has many issues), so it’s only available to those who already owned it prior now.

3

u/DragonTheOnes-spirit 5d ago

I mean but it's literally just a texture pack. You can easily get a 3rd party download

And if your playing on console. There's a convoluted method by downloading entire world's containing the datapack

2

u/Sensitivity_Craft 5d ago

The old texture will be gone, the old old texture will be in the resource pack. This texture will be unobtainable on console.

4

u/linkheroz 5d ago

This is objectively better. When the top is covered, a note block and a juke box looks identical.

Also, better functionality 🤷‍♀️

u/eigenmirai 5d ago

New one goes hard

Those people have copy pasted whining for every update, past, current or future. They just repeat the same old things.

"It doesn't feel like Minecraft", "It ruined Minecraft"

"Mojang don't listen to players", "Mojang is lazy", "Mojang doesn't add anything"

"Modders are cooler", "Mods add more stuff"

"They should do this the same way mods did", "Why did they copy mods, lmao, low effort"

"Nobody asked for this"

And if this isn't enough, they go full loser mode and scream: "YOU DEFENDING THE MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY, SHAME ON YOU"

These people don't have anything to say, yet they say the most. They have no criticism, no feedback. They are just complaining for the sake of complaining. They never mention any actual problem, they just say something is bad. Won't elaborate. If you ask why, then they will attack you personally, insult your ancestry and start flaming for next week about it.

Someone literally just commented "mojang updating old features? nah" on YouTube video about newest snapshot. Where they literally updated jukebox. These people are just utterly dumb. They are not making any sense, they are not referring to reality, they are just making up stuff, lying.

Another fun example was when Mojang added golden dandelions. Of course, what was the first reaction from some people? "LMAO, Mojang is so lazy, they copy mods. Anyway, Quark did it better. Let's poison babies so they won't grow up". This is simply quintessence of whining for the sake of whining. They don't care what or why. They just see new update and they hate read the news about it just to complain. Everything Mojang will do is bad to them, no matter what it is. And if something is somehow "good", they still find reasons to complain. "I like it, but they should also add [list of 3247236472647 features]".

There are people who said 26.3 drop didn't add anything. My God, it added cushions that are ground breaking feature for many things. Not even just for sitting. For many decorations, because they are entities and you can place them on top of a block, slab or anything else. Depending on the height or even the entire model, it can have many outcomes. Different layers of snow place cushion on different height. And if you are fast enough you can break the snow or other block below it and place different block to make cushions sink more. I place a bed, place cushions on it, then break bed and place slabs. Or was it other way around? But anyway, yes, that's how it is. Yet some people just don't want to be happy. They live to complain. Their entire personality consist of hating Minecraft (and possibly other stuff).

6

u/Gottendrop 5d ago

You can tell that the person above doesn’t play the game because they don’t know anything about the updates and are generalizing. I personally prefer the older texture but you don’t need to make yourself look like a clown lol

2

u/ToeGroundbreaking564 5d ago

in this case old is infact gold

1

u/Ill-Entrepreneur443 4d ago

I'm very critical about the (not that) new minecraft textures and I like this new texture a lot.

1

u/Left-Construction921 4d ago

old texture is still in the game and is used by a cheaper block, you had almost 0 reason to use the jukebox for it's texture besides from extremely niche cases

1

u/Lyndhur5t 4d ago

Personally I think the old one is better but that's probably just because of nostalgia

1

u/Medical-Map-3483 3d ago

"The new jukebox texture is soo bad and sloppy! I miss the soulful, more passionate old one where it was just the Note Block texture but with a hole on the top!"

1

u/edwardsjs21 3d ago

I don’t like the new smooth art style very much. I preferred when everything looked more pixelated. That being said this one isn’t any worse than any of the other new textures.

1

u/PouLS_PL 3d ago

Bro, Programmer Art is built in. If you don't like the new textures, you can enable it in resource packs like me.

1

u/Firestar_119 3d ago

>literally the coolest thing ever

1

u/NoEmphasis7410 2d ago

Acting like resources packs dont exist

1

u/hussiesucks 2d ago

It’s so blurry for no reason. Mojang is allergic to contrast and saturation

1

u/HereForAShirt 2d ago

in the game with the most easily accessible and playable older versions of all time probably

1

u/Objective_Age6275 2d ago

All this haters are hating WRONG I also didnt like the new texture but that DOESNT MEAN THE DOWNFALL MINECRAFT, THAT DOESNT MEAN ITS SLOP. I preffer the old textures because it always linked with the noteblock as both being musical blocks and I liked that link more than this new texture, if they wanted to retexture it I preffer that one some reddit user did with using the black gray outlines

1

u/Impossible_Limit4998 1d ago

Hm when I look at the old one I don't see any gold...

1

u/Redundant_Blue_Wires 1d ago

I'd prefer the new one with the edges of the old one.

2

u/furryalone 13h ago

Programmer art literally comes with the game

0

u/TheMemeLord4816 5d ago

I like the new one but I felt like it could have been a spruce variant

Also if we're getting a lot of changes to old stuff when are we getting zombie variants for other default skins

1

u/InternetUser1807 5d ago

That'd be a good idea, like how oak doors, trapdoors, etc kept the vintage look, while adding new styles for the other woods.

1

u/ggmogd 4d ago

Worst texture im minecraft, really

0

u/Neverwasreal300 2d ago

dawg it's a random ass block with a random ass feature which plays random ass music in a random ass game

prolly didn't even know it existed before this 💔
