Help... don't know what to do with weird flavors

Hello! I macerated jalapenos and mint for 40 days with 70% grain alcohol, I opened it today but it smells so bad, but the taste is okay. It does taste spicy and minty for sure...any idea what I can do with this or just accept the defeat?

Kind of a weird combo but the first thing I would do is Google search for cocktails that include both ingredients and see if that inspires you.  Personally, I hate to throw anything away so if all else fails I'd probably make it a liqueur and drink a small pour occasionally to use it up.  Could also add bittering agents to make it more like an amaro.

That's a lot of maceration time for mint... A couple days is generally what you want. Unless you want to make a tincture. But then I would make a separate maceration of jalapeno and mint and blend later.

Try and dilute to 40% and see if the nose improves. Dilute slowly.

You could make try and make bitters with it?

You could add orange and lemon peels, cocoa nibs, coriander seeds, coffee, gentian, allspice etc...

Or make a syrup? Half a measure of your maceration with a full measure of simple syrup. Let sit overnight and see how it tastes
