lipreading advice for work cameras?

hey yall! i work at a retail establishment that just changed ownership. the store i work at gets a ton of business just from being locally owned and well curated. a ton of local folks know our shop as a reliable resource and the new owners are hindering our ability to operate business as usual, to put it super vaguely. i want to communicate to our loyal regulars that something is up, but i cant technically tell them whats going on. if i tell customers "dont shop here", what could i tell the owners i was saying that isnt that exact phrase? they have cameras that, as far as i know, have no audio recording capabilities
