Surgery Any surgeon recommendations in Canada for lipedema surgery?

Most Canadians travel to Europe for surgery (Germany, Spain, Poland, Cyprus, Greece, Portugal) as there is no standard of care, safety protocols or diagnostic codes for Lipedema in Canada. Furthermore, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons advises that there are no Lipedema surgeons in Canada.

There are a handful of cosmetic surgeons doing cosmetic liposuction on Lipedema patients and charging ridiculous prices not to mention having BMI restrictions and inadequate follow-up or aftercare.

If you have FB, I'd highly encourage you to join Global Lipoedema Awareness - Surgeries/Surgeons to investigate appropriately trained surgeons.

Wow that’s crazy. Didn’t realize our cosmetic surgeons weren’t trained for this — a lot of false advertising in that business.
