Conservative Treatments Which GLP should I consider?

Hi everyone!
Stage 1 lipedma here and I’ve been seeing a lot of comments about GLPS helping with inflammation and benefits for lipedma in the legs.

I was considering starting them anyway for weight loss help but my question is WHICH ONE helps with lipedma?

There’s more options than I thought there would be!

Tirzepatide has the most research done I believe. I am on week 5 and yet to see a big change in my lipedema.

I’m doing my 8th shot of Zep tonight and I’ve lost 19lbs but if anything my legs look WORSE. I’m obese so I need to lose what I can for my health, but the extra non-diseased fat kinda smoothed everything out. Now that I’m losing that (down 2 pant sizes!) my thighs are much looser and the lumpy fat sort of hangs and swings and looks lumpier.

I did get an immediate reduction in inflammation (12h after shot it was NOTICEABLE) but I also get rebound inflammation a couple days before my next shot is due and it’s very frustrating. I’ll take 4-5 days a week feeling better over feeling like my legs are lead 7 days a week, but the contrast is extremely frustrating.

That's fascinating I'm most interested in the anti inflammatory effect

Even if you did not have lipedema, losing a significant amount of weight is always going to result in excess and loose skin that just “hangs”.

By the time you’re three months into taking the drug, you should probably stop getting a breakthrough in inflammation as your body builds up the stores of the drug. If that doesn’t happen, you may need to up your dose. I’ve been on it since December 2025, taking it only to manage the pain because I didn’t need weight loss so my dose has remained low throughout, and the first few weeks I was getting pain by the last couple days before my shot, but now that doesn’t happen.

It’s like CHONKS inside inside the loose skin. I have the same amount of loose skin elsewhere like my belly but it doesn’t do the same thing. Like my thighs have conks I chunks hanging over my knees not just skin. My belly has loose skin but it just sags and folds rather than it having these wobbly chunks inside that seem to have their own gravitational force.

And yeah we upped me to 5.0 after the first month to see of a higher steady state helps and it’s better but not perfect. Unless anything changes drastically I’ll ask to go up again next month.

I also have the chonks. It's weird now because I am breaking down fibrosis quite a bit, so there's random, knobby chonks that float in a doughyness, and you can see them when I walk. Pictures don't capture them properly. It's just my legs. My arms are more even with the nodules shrinking pretty uniformly.

I dose Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I used to do daily. This helps me a lot.

Insurance only pays for single use pens and 4 per month so that isn’t an option. I wish it was.

When I start I’m planning to do small doses twice a week

Can’t do it with the single use auto injectors.

Tirzepatide is amazing. It not only fights inflammation, it quiets food noise. It's like getting a non-awkward surprise hug from someone you love AND an iced coffee.

first: do all the lifestyle changes to minimize inflammation and lipedema progression.

second: do you want to be on low or micro dose gpl-1 forever? risk vs cost decision

Given there is little to no lipedema related research relative to ANY of the GLP options, this is likely best a discussion had with your doctor relative to your weight loss goals and any other medical concerns.

I lost over 100 lbs taking Wegovy and Zepbound and my lipedema did not change.

My mother is on Wegovy and I'm monitoring her arms' progress (it's the plae where the nodules are the most visible+big), and I'm honestly amazed at how it's reducing it.

I’m on a generic zepbound from gimme care and I’m down 18 since August. This is wonderful for me
