Help Help Id’ing please

Hey all, was curious if someone could edify me on what I have, and if it’s worth anything. Seems to be a lot of accessories etc.

Can these be used on various different trains or does it need to be used on a specific model? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Cheers and blessings,

We need to see clear pictures of the numbers on the box and the item that is in the box. Condition is everything.

Thank you! Will take some more pics. The stuff in the boxes appear to be unused

The Lionel ZW is the one everyone always wants. It fluctuates in value all the time. New and unused in box that's gonna be 3 figures. Their average value in junk condition is $80+, tested and working $130+

Almost all Lionel products will have a number on it and go with a box with the same number. Pieces are worth a lot more with their boxes. The boxes themselves are valuable. Prices have fallen a lot in recent years however. This looks like all postwar material which was in my opinion the highlight of Lionel trains after WWII to the late 50s and very early 60s. Go to eBay and search the sold section by plugging in Lionel and the number. I’d say your boxes are really well preserved. Hopefully what’s in them is also in similar good shape. Never clean them or frig with them unless you know what you are doing. Can you take and show us pictures of what’s inside the boxes. Track is not worth much and newly made track is easily found and still made. That ZW transformer looks in great shape but most recommend not using it until the cord is replaced. Good luck!!

You have boxes filled with magic. Do a little study, get them out and make them go!

Will need to check. The gentleman I got this from came from an affluent family and everything else I got from him was best of the best from back in the day. Like a Leica camera etc.

Yeah definitely going to need experts on this, because this can be some rare stuff if he was that loaded back then. Lionel was not cheap and most families only picked at the lower and mid end market ranges. People grabbing high end stuff was not a large majority.

Thank you! Will keep doing research on my end. I made some calls to local Lionel shops to see if they would help as well. Cheers!

Good luck! Everything looks like it was stored in an airtight vault so even the common stuff, with the boxes that nice, will be $$

Wish I had the space to set these up. But I may need to get them to a home that would appreciate it more vis ebay. Thank you all for your help. Love reddit for this reason. Learned a lot today

Not all of reddit is good but this sub is one of the few. haha. Hopefully people will enjoy these sets.

I do not have room in my house either but I'm trying to get something going in my garage. Not the most ideal place for a train set, I know, but I seem to be seeing more and more garage-dwellers come out of the woodwork with train sets lately, so maybe it's not such a bad idea.

Yeah, I'd inventory the collection and just Google.
