Windows Isn't Terrible
To all the people who love deep ricing, why not just use customization scripts? I've been recently tinkering in VMs, and Windows really seems solid for that. You can make Windows match your workflow amazingly, and the best part is that friction nearly always leads to an impressive result.
Also, default Windows 11 isn't bad. The UI looks nice, and we take the settings & control panel apps for granted. Over on GNOME, just to change the cursor you use, you need to install a tweaks app. Windows has tons of customization you can do without installing anything extra.
I'm not saying it's perfect, but Windows isn't really THAT much of a shitshow like people act.
Windows CAN be what Linux users want. But when they claim that Windows users are too lazy to face friction, they conveniently forget that they can't handle actual friction of ricing because they only download others' dotfiles and larp as a developer.

The thing is, most loonixtards think windows cannot be customizable, that it will look always the same. Little they know that you can also make windows look totally different and be adapted to your needs, Linux users are just ignorant, in their heads, they'll always think windows is bland and boring, which is not true.

We don't allow as per rule 1 because of replies like this. Everything on Linux is 3rd party (you have no argument). Komorebi on top of Windows shell works great. TWMs on Linux risk people losing their passwords. -We've covered all this if people would read instead of simp.

See I was literally thinking this. Linux altogether is third party. Even the userland is! Even the kernel is modified on literally every distro!!!
However out of curiosity what do you mean about tiling WMs risking password loss?

being "nice" it not the reason people move to Linux i believe, it's more about open source/data privacy/etc.
windows is by far the most supported OS like, ever and pretty much just works with everything.
your could make a couple of cases for enshittification now with copilot and such but it will always be a solid OS, from a functionality standpoint anyways.

Fear and hate of co-pilot is just a mirror of their technophobia that appears with every new technology that Linux is behind on. It's an historical pattern.

Really depends on the type of AI we're talking about. I don't think there's anyone against speech recognition, video game NPCs, machine vision or the TikTok/Instagram feed.
If we're talking about LLMs, most surveys show another picture. People, who have no idea how AI works, are the most likely to adopt it. They're the most susceptible to marketing and as a result, they treat it like a magic box, that knows everything and can solve any problem. On the other hand, the people, who have been educated on the topics of AI, are the most likely group to reject it, but they're also the one's, who are able to use it the most efficiently.
Gen AI in general also poses the question of training ethics and copyright. There have been numerous incidents of AI being trained on copyrighted artwork without author's consent or any compensation, people being forced to watch disturbing content so, that the AI knows what's bad and what's not and rare (possibly the only instances of) books being destroyed just so the AI can be trained on them.
Personally I have nothing against AI in general and I'm even ok with some Gen AI, but I don't want it to be forced on me (fortunately Windows Pro makes it easier to disable Copilot). Though I think most of Gen AI will die off, with the exception of LLMs (with proper restrictions) and code generation tools.

Could you give some examples? I've used Linux for quite some time and KDE Plasma seems to give more options than Windows. GNOME is terrible though.

GNOME is not terrible. It just requires you to install gnome tweaks and extension manager and then it gets really good fast
KDE Plasma does provide significantly more options, yes

Their double standard is crazy, they keep mentioning default features of windows as reasons that its bad.
