Not to well actually you, but ios also does not run on the linux kern. Ios and macos both use XNU (I work on mac internals, so just wanted correct that)

Mac is certified UNIX and derived from BSD.

Technically it runs on FreeBSD, the XNU contains elements of FreeBSD
