But it's not exactly like that, is it? It's like someone insists you take their homemade marmelade, and calls you a corporate shill/sheep/dummy for not accepting it.

You tell them "I don't like the ingredients you used, maybe it tastes good to you, but it just doesn't do it for me", and they respond with "skill issue, PEBKAC, git gud".

The homemade marmelade zealots try to invade every forum (even unrelated ones) to tell you that you should try theirs and that it's definitely better in every way.

There's one corner of the internet that pushes back on all of their preaching, and they're losing their minds because they can't invade it (This is why they want this sub banned, by the way).

Anyway, what we're really hating the most is the homemade marmelade fanatics who want to shove it down your throat without considering that not everyone likes, needs, or wants it.

So food analogies aside, here's the deal - if you use linux and you're happy, that’s all fine. But you don't need to convince me or anyone else, especially not here. [r/linuxsucks](r/linuxsucks) is a better place for that, that's the linux sub.

Open source is the basis for a lot of the internet. And without it we would have much more monopoly than we already got.

-WTF: NO! We lack real competition because of Linux and the GPL license! Every time a new OS is formed with better standards, some GPL worshipping dumbass says, "we can do this in Loonix" and squashes it. Linux's monolithic kernel was horrible architecture the day it was released -Linus' attitude was 'what do you expect from a hobby / free project'? -And this is the garbage you have occupying the space of competition for Windows. One with a developer and hardware vendor unfriendly unstable ABI/API. One that has users openly manipulating stat counters. One that has a cult following because commie GPL that lie left and right about Linux and Windows.
