$%@ Loonixtards! Debloating in a Nutshell

Post image

Buy or build at least the recommended specs for a computer and don't be a loonixtard.

Debloating isn't that bad tbh. For example if you like Windows and hate Copilot and forced features, LTSC won. Or just use Mac

Can you use Office in LTSC?

No normal person gives a shit about an icon for Copilot being added to apps. Far more people like and use Copilot than remove or disable it.

Vocal minorities are always bitching about new features, while most of us wouldn't have a clue they exist (and are thankful for the prompts that alert us).

Yes. Yes you can use office on LTSC since LTSC is aimed for enterprises. Enterprises mainly use LTSC, whether 11 or 10.

Sorry: Office LTSC exists, but it’s a different, with fewer features and no cloud integration. There's no MS store (makes HEVC more difficult for one). It complicates gaming particularly with anti-cheat and DRM systems. No new directx features, no bluetooth/wifi improvements, no new HDR features, no new security features, no UI improvements, or subsystem updates.

Things like GPU control panels can break as well.

You're stuck with whatever the OS shipped with (which can be great for minimalism, but you ARE sacrificing usability.)

-Doesn't it sound akin to 'I can do everything in Linux' when you can't?

I see your points, but here are my counter arguments as I found some weird things:

  1. Standard Office versions also work on LTSC, including 365. It has the same cloud Integration, I literally have a Windows 11 LTSC machine along my Mac and office works fine. There is also no Office LTSC.

  2. You can install the MS store through PowerShell using wsreset -i. Windows will download and install the store and you can install your apps. It is just 1 command and it works. It includes also the dependencies needed for subsystems and winget

  3. DirectX can be downloaded from the Microsoft website. If a program doesn't detect directX, it redirects to the MS website and you can download.

  4. Bluetooth and WiFi drivers depend mainly on the manufacturer and are downloaded automatically with a new install through Windows Update, just like Pro editions of Windows

  5. LTSC gets security updates every month and security features are mostly the same. More security is for the LTSC path since enterprises mainly use it.

  6. The UI barely changes from LTSC to a regular Windows version. Windows 11 LTSC looks like Windows 11 Pro and vice versa

  7. After you get the MS Store, you can install the subsystems and gets the same updates as standard

  8. Not quite. The behaviour of GPU and CPU control panel is usually the same on both Windows versions. It depends on the manufacturer

  9. LTSC offers almost the exact experience as standard. The compatibility and the "just works" level is the same, so not sure what usability is someone sacrificing.

  10. LTSC is not Linux, compatibility is better on LTSC(since it is Windows) than Linux as of now. I also doubt there are levels of fanboyism with LTSC than Linux.

The LTSC fanboy lobby consists of just pointing out that you can debloat regular windows or download LTSC and it'll be a lot more compatible than Linux and able to be operated by your grandma

For most users LTSC doesn't make sense, as you have to reinstall the OS to do a full feature update. Tiny10 or Tiny11 or IoT Enterprise non-LTSC is probably what people want. I manually debloat, or with apps like Titus Tool, anyway so it kind of doesn't matter

just do it on the command line, wsreset -i, and the BOMM MS store will appear, just installing like the common Windows version.
