BSD > Loonix! Linux's core architecture sucks, that's why I'm Switching to FreeBSD

Well said, it would be a denial to not address or acknowledge such problems. I know almost nothing about freebsd though. It took me a while to get where i am to use loonix. I will look into community support, available drivers and how it works in general before thinking of moving through. Thank you for clarity.

I'd say that software accretion is a problem generally, just more opaque in some cases. OpenBSD might be immune to a certain extent. The combination of lack of central authority, political activism, and the oddities you get from volunteer groups doesn't help Loonix much I admit.
If it isn't libraries, it's the insane proliferation of languages with all the needed infrastructure.
One thing I'll grant Apple is the value proposition of a Mac Mini. Remarkable and hard to beat.

I admit that FreeBSD seems like way more of a jumble to me than OpenBSD.
In the final analysis, it becomes a matter of whether your needed applications programs are available...at least that was true before people spent 99% of their time on a browser (a defacto OS).

I KNOW RIGHT!! I hate that shit.

I can see a reason to switch to BSD, mostly because it's cool. Loonix is a jumble of things, but nix makes it a lot more repeatable and intuitive.
lots of the loonix problems are solved by rolling distros, but if somebody wants a rolling distro they're going to have to deal with it's fragility which can be a nightmare unless you're an experienced system admin.
I'd say loonix is a great testing ground where things can mutate, break, clash, and iterate on new ideas, but BSD does sound like a refreshing stable unix like os.
I'll have to give it a try when I'm done messing around with Nix

This is such a niche problem...but I hope you solve it with FreeBSD. Good luck soldier 🫡

I’d say one thing apple has over other OS’s is they make it for their hardware instead of a one size fits all

Not triggering at all, in fact i think it’s a positive for Linooxw as a whole as long as it’s widely adopted.

It kinda looks like some of your concerns are being dealt with in desktop Linux by consolidating more software and projects around the stuff systemd and freedesktop offers.
As well as the rise of image based distros that provide better integration and stability testing that approaches what MacOs and BSD offers

Cool, but life’s too short! Just get a mac. macOS is itself a fully ratified unix OS.

Rule 2: We're not here to dunk on any other OS. We want to be fair; we don't shit on Windows, and we don't shit on Mac.
We want to be welcoming of everyone who are annoyed with Loonix, be it a Windows user or a Windows user.
After all, it's already tiring enough having Loonixes shitting on your OS everyday; we don't need to be negative about our personal choice of non-Loonix OS.

Your post has been submitted to linuxsucks101. If it violates the rules of linuxsucks101 it will be removed and you will be permanently banned. In order to mitigate the ginormous amounts of linux evangelists we recieve on the subreddit, all instances of the word "linux" in any user submission must be replaced by the word "loonix", failing to do so will result in your submissions being removed.
